Gehazi went on ahead and laid the staff on the boy’s face, but there was no sound or response. So Gehazi went back to meet Elisha and told him,“ The boy has not awakened.”

Gehazi went on ahead. He laid Elisha’s walking stick on the boy’s face. But there wasn’t any sound. The boy didn’t move at all. So Gehazi went back to Elisha. He told him,“ The boy hasn’t awakened.”

Gehazi went on ahead and laid the staff on the face of the child, but there was no sound or sign of life. Therefore he returned to meet him and told him,“ The child has not awakened.”

Gehazi hurried on ahead and laid the staff on the child’s face, but nothing happened. There was no sign of life. He returned to meet Elisha and told him,“ The child is still dead.”

接着耶稣又说：“我们的朋友拉撒路已经睡了，我去叫醒他。”

说完，就大声呼喊：“拉撒路，出来！”那死者就出来了，手脚都缠着布条，脸上也包着布。耶稣对他们说：“给他解开，让他走！”

于是，扫罗求问上帝，说：“耶和华啊，我们可以去追杀非利士人吗？你会把他们交在以色列人手里吗？”但耶和华那日没有回答他。

他们取了公牛预备好，然后从早上到正午不断地呼求：“巴力啊，求你应允我们！”可是毫无动静。他们又绕着自己筑的祭坛跳个不停。

因为光能使一切显明出来。因此有人说：“沉睡的人啊，醒来吧！从死人中起来吧，基督要光照你了！”

耶稣进去问道：“你们为什么大哭大嚷呢？这孩子并没有死，只是睡着了。”

耶稣说：“唉，这不信的世代啊！我要跟你们在一起待多久，容忍你们多久呢？把他带到我这里吧。”他们把那孩子带到耶稣面前。那鬼一见耶稣，就使孩子抽搐，倒在地上打滚，口吐白沫。耶稣问孩子的父亲：“他这样子多久了？”孩子的父亲回答道：“他从小就这样，鬼常常将他扔进火里或水里，要害他的命。如果你能，求你怜悯我们，帮助我们吧！”耶稣说：“如果你能？对于相信的人，凡事都有可能！”孩子的父亲立刻喊着说：“我信！但我信心不足，求你帮助我！”耶稣看见人群都跑了过来，就斥责那污鬼：“你这个聋哑鬼，我命令你从他身上出来，不许再进去！”那鬼发出喊叫，使孩子剧烈地抽搐了一阵，就出来了。孩子躺在地上一动也不动，大家都以为他死了。但耶稣拉着他的手扶他起来，他就站了起来。耶稣进屋后，门徒悄悄问祂：“我们为什么赶不走那鬼呢？”耶稣说：“要赶走这类鬼只有靠祷告。”

就求问耶和华，但耶和华没有借着梦、乌陵或先知回答他。

那时，有几个走江湖的犹太术士也想用耶稣的名赶鬼，他们向那些被邪灵附身的人说：“我奉保罗所传讲的耶稣之名，命令你们出来！”做这事的有犹太祭司长士基瓦的七个儿子。邪灵回答说：“耶稣，我认识；保罗，我也知道。但你们是谁？”被邪灵附身的人随即扑向他们，攻击他们，制服了他们，使他们赤着身子带着伤从屋里逃走了。全以弗所的犹太人和希腊人知道了这件事，都惊惧不已。主耶稣的名因此大受尊崇。

“人子啊，这些人在心里立起偶像，把导致犯罪的绊脚石放在自己面前，我岂能让他们来求问？

我带他去见你的门徒，但他们却不能治好他。”耶稣说：“唉！这世代又不信又败坏的人啊，我要跟你们在一起待多久？我要容忍你们多久呢？把他带来吧。”耶稣斥责附在孩子身上的鬼，鬼就离开了那孩子，从此他就好了。事后，门徒私下问耶稣：“我们为什么赶不走那鬼呢？”耶稣说：“你们的信心太小了。我实在告诉你们，你们若有像芥菜种那样大的信心，就算叫这座山从这里移到那里，它也会移开，你们将没有办不到的事。

许多长眠地下的人必醒过来，有些得到永生，有些蒙受羞辱，永远被憎恶。

人躺下便不再起来，到诸天不复存在，他仍不会醒来，不会从长眠中被唤醒。

他们不断地狂呼乱叫，直到献晚祭的时候，仍然毫无动静，没有半点反应。
