When she reached the man of God at the mountain, she took hold of his feet. Gehazi came over to push her away, but the man of God said,“ Leave her alone! She is in bitter distress, but the Lord has hidden it from me and has not told me why.”

She came to the man of God at the mountain. Then she took hold of his feet. Gehazi came over to push her away. But the man of God said,“ Leave her alone! She is suffering terribly. But the Lord hasn’t told me the reason for it. He has hidden it from me.”

And when she came to the mountain to the man of God, she caught hold of his feet. And Gehazi came to push her away. But the man of God said,“ Leave her alone, for she is in bitter distress, and the Lord has hidden it from me and has not told me.”

But when she came to the man of God at the mountain, she fell to the ground before him and caught hold of his feet. Gehazi began to push her away, but the man of God said,“ Leave her alone. She is deeply troubled, but the Lord has not told me what it is.”

When she came up to the man of God at the mountain, she clung to his feet. Gehazi came to push her away, but the man of God said,“ Leave her alone— she is in severe anguish, and the LORD has hidden it from me. He hasn’t told me.”

But she came to the man of God at the hill and took hold of his feet. And Gehazi came up to push her away, but the man of God said,“ Leave her alone, for her soul is troubled within her; and the Lord has concealed it from me and has not informed me.”

Now when she came to the man of God at the hill, she caught him by the feet, but Gehazi came near to push her away. But the man of God said,“ Let her alone; for her soul is in deep distress, and the Lord has hidden it from me, and has not told me.”

And when she came to the man of God to the hill, she caught hold of his feet. And Gehazi came near to thrust her away; but the man of God said, Let her alone: for her soul is vexed within her; and Jehovah hath hid it from me, and hath not told me.

When she came up to the man of God at the mountain, she clung to his feet. Gehazi came to push her away, but the man of God said,“ Leave her alone— she is in severe anguish, and the Lord has hidden it from me. He hasn’t told me.”

And when she came to the man of God to the hill, she caught him by the feet: but Gehazi came near to thrust her away. And the man of God said, Let her alone; for her soul[ is] vexed within her: and the LORD hath hid[ it] from me, and hath not told me.

But when she reached the prophet on the mountain, she grabbed hold of his feet. Gehazi came near to push her away, but the prophet said,“ Leave her alone, for she is very upset. The LORD has kept the matter hidden from me; he didn’t tell me about it.”

When she came to the man of God to the hill, she caught hold of his feet. Gehazi came near to thrust her away; but the man of God said,“ Leave her alone; for her soul is troubled within her; and Yahweh has hidden it from me, and has not told me.”

People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them. (niv)

So she set out and came to the man of God at Mount Carmel. When he saw her in the distance, the man of God said to his servant Gehazi,“ Look! There’s the Shunammite! (niv)

The human spirit can endure in sickness, but a crushed spirit who can bear? (niv)

“ I loathe my very life; therefore I will give free rein to my complaint and speak out in the bitterness of my soul. (niv)

Nathan replied to the king,“ Whatever you have in mind, go ahead and do it, for the Lord is with you.” (niv)

“ None of us, my lord the king,” said one of his officers,“ but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the very words you speak in your bedroom.” (niv)

Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him,“ Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.” (niv)

Then the Lord said,“ Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do? (niv)

In her deep anguish Hannah prayed to the Lord, weeping bitterly. (niv)

Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets. (niv)

Each heart knows its own bitterness, and no one else can share its joy. (niv)

Suddenly Jesus met them.“ Greetings,” he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. (niv)

The crowd rebuked them and told them to be quiet, but they shouted all the louder,“ Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!” (niv)

I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. (niv)

“ Leave her alone,” said Jesus.“ Why are you bothering her? She has done a beautiful thing to me. (niv)

Just then his disciples returned and were surprised to find him talking with a woman. But no one asked,“ What do you want?” or“ Why are you talking with her?” (niv)

But one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, who was later to betray him, objected,“ Why wasn’t this perfume sold and the money given to the poor? It was worth a year’s wages.”He did not say this because he cared about the poor but because he was a thief; as keeper of the money bag, he used to help himself to what was put into it.“ Leave her alone,” Jesus replied.“ It was intended that she should save this perfume for the day of my burial. (niv)

As she stood behind him at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them and poured perfume on them. (niv)
