以利沙说：“明年到这时候，你必抱一个儿子。”她说：“神人，我主啊，不要那样欺哄婢女。”

以利沙说：“明年这时候，你必抱一个儿子。”她说：“神人，我主啊，不要这样欺哄婢女。”

以利沙说：“明年这时候，你必抱一个儿子。”她说：“神人，我主啊，不要这样欺哄婢女。”

以利沙对她说：“明年这时候，你必抱一个儿子。”她说：“上帝的仆人，我主啊，不要骗我。”

以利沙说：“明年这个时分，时候到了，你必怀抱一个儿子。”她说：“神人哪！不要欺哄你的婢女。”

以利沙說：「明年到這時候，你必抱一個兒子。」她說：「神人，我主啊，不要那樣欺哄婢女。」

以利沙說：「明年這時候，你必抱一個兒子。」她說：「神人，我主啊，不要這樣欺哄婢女。」

以利沙說：「明年這時候，你必抱一個兒子。」她說：「神人，我主啊，不要這樣欺哄婢女。」

以利沙對她說：「明年這時候，你必抱一個兒子。」她說：「上帝的僕人，我主啊，不要騙我。」

以利沙說：“明年這個時分，時候到了，你必懷抱一個兒子。”她說：“神人哪！不要欺哄你的婢女。”

以利沙說：『到了日期，約在婦人懷孕滿期的時候、你就要抱兒子了。』婦人說：『我主神人哪，不會的；你別和婢女開玩笑啦。』

以利沙曰、歲月既周、至於此時、爾必抱子、曰、不然、我主上帝僕歟、勿誑爾婢、

以利沙曰、明年屆期、爾必誕育。曰、我主、上帝之僕與、毋欺爾婢。

以利沙曰、明年斯時、爾必抱一子、曰、神人我主歟、請勿如是言、勿欺爾婢、

“ About this time next year,” Elisha said,“ you will hold a son in your arms.”“ No, my lord!” she objected.“ Please, man of God, don’t mislead your servant!”

“ You will hold a son in your arms,” Elisha said.“ It will be about this time next year.”“ No, my master!” she objected.“ You are a man of God. So please don’t lie to me!”

And he said,“ At this season, about this time next year, you shall embrace a son.” And she said,“ No, my lord, O man of God; do not lie to your servant.”

Elisha said,“ At this time next year you will have a son in your arms.” Then she said,“ No, my lord. Man of God, do not lie to your servant.”

Then he said,“ At this season next year, you are going to embrace a son.” And she said,“ No, my lord, you man of God, do not lie to your servant.”

Then he said,“ About this time next year you shall embrace a son.” And she said,“ No, my Lord. Man of God, do not lie to your maidservant!”

And he said, At this season, when the time cometh round, thou shalt embrace a son. And she said, Nay, my lord, thou man of God, do not lie unto thy handmaid.

Elisha said,“ At this time next year you will have a son in your arms.” Then she said,“ No, my lord. Man of God, do not deceive your servant.”

And he said, About this season, according to the time of life, thou shalt embrace a son. And she said, Nay, my lord,[ thou] man of God, do not lie unto thine handmaid.

He said,“ About this time next year you will be holding a son.” She said,“ No, my master! O prophet, do not lie to your servant!”

He said,“ At this season, when the time comes around, you will embrace a son.” She said,“ No, my lord, you man of God, do not lie to your servant.”

Then one of them said,“ I will return to you about this time next year, and your wife, Sarah, will have a son!” Sarah was listening to this conversation from the tent.

Then she said,“ Did I ask you for a son, my lord? And didn’t I say,‘ Don’t deceive me and get my hopes up’?”

But my covenant will be confirmed with Isaac, who will be born to you and Sarah about this time next year.”

And I will bless her and give you a son from her! Yes, I will bless her richly, and she will become the mother of many nations. Kings of nations will be among her descendants.”Then Abraham bowed down to the ground, but he laughed to himself in disbelief.“ How could I become a father at the age of 100?” he thought.“ And how can Sarah have a baby when she is ninety years old?”

But the angel said,“ Don’t be afraid, Zechariah! God has heard your prayer. Your wife, Elizabeth, will give you a son, and you are to name him John.

Then she said to Elijah,“ O man of God, what have you done to me? Have you come here to point out my sins and kill my son?”

“ Don’t be afraid, Mary,” the angel told her,“ for you have found favor with God!You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus.

So she laughed silently to herself and said,“ How could a worn out woman like me enjoy such pleasure, especially when my master— my husband— is also so old?”Then the Lord said to Abraham,“ Why did Sarah laugh? Why did she say,‘ Can an old woman like me have a baby?’Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return about this time next year, and Sarah will have a son.”Sarah was afraid, so she denied it, saying,“ I didn’t laugh.” But the Lord said,“ No, you did laugh.”

Zechariah said to the angel,“ How can I be sure this will happen? I’m an old man now, and my wife is also well along in years.”Then the angel said,“ I am Gabriel! I stand in the very presence of God. It was he who sent me to bring you this good news!But now, since you didn’t believe what I said, you will be silent and unable to speak until the child is born. For my words will certainly be fulfilled at the proper time.”

But Elisha sent a messenger out to him with this message:“ Go and wash yourself seven times in the Jordan River. Then your skin will be restored, and you will be healed of your leprosy.”But Naaman became angry and stalked away.“ I thought he would certainly come out to meet me!” he said.“ I expected him to wave his hand over the leprosy and call on the name of the Lord his God and heal me!

In my anxiety I cried out to you,“ These people are all liars!”

“ Oh, sir,” Obadiah protested,“ what harm have I done to you that you are sending me to my death at the hands of Ahab?

One day the leaders of the town of Jericho visited Elisha.“ We have a problem, my lord,” they told him.“ This town is located in pleasant surroundings, as you can see. But the water is bad, and the land is unproductive.”
