“ You will hold a son in your arms,” Elisha said.“ It will be about this time next year.”“ No, my master!” she objected.“ You are a man of God. So please don’t lie to me!”

以利沙说：“明年到这时候，你必抱一个儿子。”她说：“神人，我主啊，不要那样欺哄婢女。”

以利沙说：“明年这时候，你必抱一个儿子。”她说：“神人，我主啊，不要这样欺哄婢女。”

以利沙说：“明年这时候，你必抱一个儿子。”她说：“神人，我主啊，不要这样欺哄婢女。”

以利沙对她说：“明年这时候，你必抱一个儿子。”她说：“上帝的仆人，我主啊，不要骗我。”

以利沙说：“明年这个时分，时候到了，你必怀抱一个儿子。”她说：“神人哪！不要欺哄你的婢女。”

以利沙說：「明年到這時候，你必抱一個兒子。」她說：「神人，我主啊，不要那樣欺哄婢女。」

以利沙說：「明年這時候，你必抱一個兒子。」她說：「神人，我主啊，不要這樣欺哄婢女。」

以利沙說：「明年這時候，你必抱一個兒子。」她說：「神人，我主啊，不要這樣欺哄婢女。」

以利沙對她說：「明年這時候，你必抱一個兒子。」她說：「上帝的僕人，我主啊，不要騙我。」

以利沙說：“明年這個時分，時候到了，你必懷抱一個兒子。”她說：“神人哪！不要欺哄你的婢女。”

以利沙說：『到了日期，約在婦人懷孕滿期的時候、你就要抱兒子了。』婦人說：『我主神人哪，不會的；你別和婢女開玩笑啦。』

以利沙曰、歲月既周、至於此時、爾必抱子、曰、不然、我主上帝僕歟、勿誑爾婢、

以利沙曰、明年屆期、爾必誕育。曰、我主、上帝之僕與、毋欺爾婢。

以利沙曰、明年斯時、爾必抱一子、曰、神人我主歟、請勿如是言、勿欺爾婢、

“ About this time next year,” Elisha said,“ you will hold a son in your arms.”“ No, my lord!” she objected.“ Please, man of God, don’t mislead your servant!”

And he said,“ At this season, about this time next year, you shall embrace a son.” And she said,“ No, my lord, O man of God; do not lie to your servant.”

“ Next year at this time you will be holding a son in your arms!”“ No, my lord!” she cried.“ O man of God, don’t deceive me and get my hopes up like that.”

Elisha said,“ At this time next year you will have a son in your arms.” Then she said,“ No, my lord. Man of God, do not lie to your servant.”

Then he said,“ At this season next year, you are going to embrace a son.” And she said,“ No, my lord, you man of God, do not lie to your servant.”

Then he said,“ About this time next year you shall embrace a son.” And she said,“ No, my Lord. Man of God, do not lie to your maidservant!”

And he said, At this season, when the time cometh round, thou shalt embrace a son. And she said, Nay, my lord, thou man of God, do not lie unto thy handmaid.

Elisha said,“ At this time next year you will have a son in your arms.” Then she said,“ No, my lord. Man of God, do not deceive your servant.”

And he said, About this season, according to the time of life, thou shalt embrace a son. And she said, Nay, my lord,[ thou] man of God, do not lie unto thine handmaid.

He said,“ About this time next year you will be holding a son.” She said,“ No, my master! O prophet, do not lie to your servant!”

He said,“ At this season, when the time comes around, you will embrace a son.” She said,“ No, my lord, you man of God, do not lie to your servant.”

Then one of them said,“ I will surely return to you about this time next year. Your wife Sarah will have a son.” Sarah was listening at the entrance to the tent, which was behind him.

“ My master, did I ask you for a son?” she said.“ Didn’t I tell you,‘ Don’t make me hope for something that won’t happen’?”

But I will establish my covenant with Isaac. By this time next year, Sarah will have a son by you.”

I will give her my blessing. You can be sure that I will give you a son by her. I will bless her so that she will be the mother of nations. Kings of nations will come from her.”Abraham fell with his face to the ground. He laughed and said to himself,“ Can a 100- year- old man have a son? Can Sarah have a child at the age of 90?”

But the angel said to him,“ Do not be afraid, Zechariah. Your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will have a child. It will be a boy, and you must call him John.

The woman said to Elijah,“ You are a man of God. What do you have against me? Did you come to bring my sin out into the open? Did you come to kill my son?”

But the angel said to her,“ Do not be afraid, Mary. God is very pleased with you.You will become pregnant and give birth to a son. You must call him Jesus.

So she laughed to herself. She thought,“ I’m worn out, and my husband is old. Can I really know the joy of having a baby?”Then the Lord said to Abraham,“ Why did Sarah laugh? Why did she say,‘ Will I really have a baby, now that I am old?’Is anything too hard for me? I will return to you at the appointed time next year. Sarah will have a son.”Sarah was afraid. So she lied and said,“ I didn’t laugh.” But the Lord said,“ Yes, you laughed.”

Zechariah asked the angel,“ How can I be sure of this? I am an old man, and my wife is old too.”The angel said to him,“ I am Gabriel. I serve God. I have been sent to speak to you and to tell you this good news.And now you will have to be silent. You will not be able to speak until after John is born. That’s because you did not believe my words. They will come true at the time God has chosen.”

Elisha sent a messenger out to him. The messenger said,“ Go! Wash yourself in the Jordan River seven times. Then your skin will be healed. You will be pure and‘ clean’ again.”But Naaman went away angry. He said,“ I was sure Elisha would come out to me. I thought he would stand there and pray to the Lord his God. I thought he would wave his hand over my skin. Then I would be healed.

When I was terrified, I said to myself,“ No one tells the truth.”

“ What have I done wrong?” asked Obadiah.“ Why are you handing me over to Ahab to be put to death?

The people of Jericho said to Elisha,“ Look. This town has a good location. You can see that for yourself. But the spring of water here is bad. So the land doesn’t produce anything.”
