Elisha said to Gehazi,“ Tell her,‘ Look, you have treated us with such great respect. What can I do for you? Can I put in a good word for you with the king or the commander of the army?’” She replied,“ I’m quite secure.”

以利沙吩咐仆人说：“你对她说：你既为我们费了许多心思，可以为你做什么呢？你向王或元帅有所求的没有？”她回答说：“我在我本乡安居无事。”

以利沙吩咐仆人说：“你对她说：‘看哪，你为我们费了许多心思，我可以为你做什么呢？我可以为你向王或元帅求什么呢？’”她说：“我已住在自己百姓之中。”

以利沙吩咐基哈西说：“你对她说，‘你为我们费了不少心，我们该为你做些什么呢？要不要我们在王或元帅面前为你说些好话呢？’”她答道：“我在本族中安居无事。”

他对他的仆人说：“你对她说：‘看哪！你为我们费了这么多心思。我可以为你作些什么呢？你有事要我替你向王或军长说的吗？’”她说：“我住在自己的人民中间。”

以利沙對僕人說：『你對婦人說：「看哪，你既對我們費了這一切心思，我可以為你作甚麼事？有沒有甚麼事可以為你向王或軍長稟告的呢？」她回答說：『我在我本族之民中居住、倒是平安無事。』

以利沙謂其僕曰、告之云、爾既為我思慮周密、我當為爾何為、爾於王、或軍長、有所求乎、婦曰、我居於我民中、安甚、

以利沙告從者曰、爾當告婦曰、爾既為我慮之周密、我當為爾何為、或請於王、或請於軍長。婦曰、我居於民間、無不自得。

以利沙命僕曰、爾告之云、爾既為我思慮周密若此、我當為爾何為、爾於王或軍長有何所求乎、婦曰、我在我民中安居焉、

Elisha said to him,“ Tell her,‘ You have gone to all this trouble for us. Now what can be done for you? Can we speak on your behalf to the king or the commander of the army?’” She replied,“ I have a home among my own people.”

He said to Gehazi,“ Tell her,‘ You have gone to a lot of trouble for us. Now what can we do for you? Can we speak to the king for you? Or can we speak to the commander of the army for you?’ ” She replied,“ I live among my own people. I have everything I need here.”

And he said to him,“ Say now to her,‘ See, you have taken all this trouble for us; what is to be done for you? Would you have a word spoken on your behalf to the king or to the commander of the army?’” She answered,“ I dwell among my own people.”

Elisha said to Gehazi,“ Tell her,‘ We appreciate the kind concern you have shown us. What can we do for you? Can we put in a good word for you to the king or to the commander of the army?’”“ No,” she replied,“ my family takes good care of me.”

Then he said to Gehazi,“ Say to her,‘ Look, you’ve gone to all this trouble for us. What can we do for you? Can we speak on your behalf to the king or to the commander of the army?’” She answered,“ I am living among my own people.”

And he said to him,“ Say now to her,‘ Behold, you have taken trouble for us with all this care; what can I do for you? Would you like me to speak for you to the king or to the commander of the army?’ ” But she answered,“ I live among my own people.”

And he said to him,“ Say now to her,‘ Look, you have been concerned for us with all this care. What can I do for you? Do you want me to speak on your behalf to the king or to the commander of the army?’” She answered,“ I dwell among my own people.”

And he said unto him, Say now unto her, Behold, thou hast been careful for us with all this care; what is to be done for thee? wouldest thou be spoken for to the king, or to the captain of the host? And she answered, I dwell among mine own people.

Then he said to Gehazi,“ Say to her,‘ Look, you’ve gone to all this trouble for us. What can we do for you? Can we speak on your behalf to the king or to the commander of the army?’” She answered,“ I am living among my own people.”

He said to him,“ Say now to her,‘ Behold, you have cared for us with all this care. What is to be done for you? Would you like to be spoken for to the king, or to the captain of the army?’” She answered,“ I dwell among my own people.”

“ Whoever receives you receives me, and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me.Whoever receives a prophet in the name of a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward. Whoever receives a righteous person in the name of a righteous person will receive a righteous person’s reward.And whoever gives only a cup of cold water to one of these little ones in the name of a disciple, I tell you the truth, he will never lose his reward.”

May the Lord grant mercy to the family of Onesiphorus, because he often refreshed me and was not ashamed of my imprisonment.But when he arrived in Rome, he eagerly searched for me and found me.May the Lord grant him to find mercy from the Lord on that day! And you know very well all the ways he served me in Ephesus.

Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to acknowledge those who labor among you and preside over you in the Lord and admonish you,and to esteem them most highly in love because of their work. Be at peace among yourselves.

Say to Amasa,‘ Are you not my flesh and blood? God will punish me severely, if from this time on you are not the commander of my army in place of Joab!’”

For I have received everything, and I have plenty. I have all I need because I received from Epaphroditus what you sent– a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, very pleasing to God.And my God will supply your every need according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

Now godliness combined with contentment brings great profit.For we have brought nothing into this world and so we cannot take a single thing out either.But if we have food and shelter, we will be satisfied with that.

Trust in the LORD and do what is right! Settle in the land and maintain your integrity!

For God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love you have demonstrated for his name, in having served and continuing to serve the saints.

so that you may welcome her in the Lord in a way worthy of the saints and provide her with whatever help she may need from you, for she has been a great help to many, including me.

I will take nothing except compensation for what the young men have eaten. As for the share of the men who went with me– Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre– let them take their share.”

But Barzillai was very old– eighty years old, in fact– and he had taken care of the king when he stayed in Mahanaim, for he was a very rich man.So the king said to Barzillai,“ Cross over with me, and I will take care of you while you are with me in Jerusalem.”Barzillai replied to the king,“ How many days do I have left to my life, that I should go up with the king to Jerusalem?I am presently eighty years old. Am I able to discern good and bad? Can I taste what I eat and drink? Am I still able to hear the voices of male and female singers? Why should I continue to be a burden to my lord the king?I will cross the Jordan with the king and go a short distance. Why should the king reward me in this way?Let me return so that I may die in my own city near the grave of my father and my mother. But look, here is your servant Kimham. Let him cross over with my lord the king. Do for him whatever seems appropriate to you.”The king replied,“ Kimham will cross over with me, and I will do for him whatever I deem appropriate. And whatever you choose, I will do for you.”

But now, get me a musician.” When the musician played, the LORD energized him,and he said,“ This is what the LORD says,‘ Make many cisterns in this valley,’for this is what the LORD says,‘ You will not feel any wind or see any rain, but this valley will be full of water and you and your cattle and animals will drink.’This is an easy task for the LORD; he will also hand Moab over to you.

He said to them,“ Take nothing for your journey– no staff, no bag, no bread, no money, and do not take an extra tunic.Whatever house you enter, stay there until you leave the area.Wherever they do not receive you, as you leave that town, shake the dust off your feet as a testimony against them.”

When he arrived, the officers of the army were sitting there. So he said,“ I have a message for you, O officer.” Jehu asked,“ For which one of us?” He replied,“ For you, O officer.”

Your conduct must be free from the love of money and you must be content with what you have, for he has said,“ I will never leave you and I will never abandon you.”

Now Elisha advised the woman whose son he had brought back to life,“ You and your family should go and live somewhere else for a while, for the LORD has decreed that a famine will overtake the land for seven years.”

During the time of the judges there was a famine in the land of Judah. So a man from Bethlehem in Judah went to live as a resident foreigner in the region of Moab, along with his wife and two sons.( Now the man’s name was Elimelech, his wife was Naomi, and his two sons were Mahlon and Kilion. They were of the clan of Ephrath from Bethlehem in Judah.) They entered the region of Moab and settled there.Sometime later Naomi’s husband Elimelech died, so she and her two sons were left alone.So her sons married Moabite women.( One was named Orpah and the other Ruth.) And they continued to live there about ten years.

After seven years the woman returned from the land of the Philistines and went to ask the king to give her back her house and field.Now the king was talking to Gehazi, the prophet’s servant, and said,“ Tell me all the great things which Elisha has done.”While Gehazi was telling the king how Elisha had brought the dead back to life, the woman whose son he had brought back to life came to ask the king for her house and field. Gehazi said,“ My master, O king, this is the very woman and this is her son whom Elisha brought back to life!”The king asked the woman about it, and she gave him the details. The king assigned a eunuch to take care of her request and ordered him,“ Give her back everything she owns, as well as the amount of crops her field produced from the day she left the land until now.”

May the LORD punish him for the blood he shed; behind my father David’s back he struck down and murdered with the sword two men who were more innocent and morally upright than he– Abner son of Ner, commander of Israel’s army, and Amasa son of Jether, commander of Judah’s army.
