Nevertheless he clung to the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, which he had caused Israel to commit; he did not turn away from them.

But he kept on committing the sins of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat. Jeroboam had also caused Israel to commit those same sins. Joram didn’t turn away from them.

他心想：“国权恐怕会重归大卫家。若百姓去耶路撒冷，在耶和华的殿献祭，他们的心必重新归向他们的主——犹大王罗波安。他们会杀了我，然后投奔犹大王罗波安。”他征询臣僚的意见后，就铸造了两个金牛犊，对民众说：“以色列人啊，你们上耶路撒冷敬拜太麻烦了。这两个金牛犊就是领你们出埃及的神明。”他把一个金牛犊安置在伯特利，另一个安置在但。这使民众陷入罪中，因为他们开始到但去拜金牛犊。耶罗波安又在高岗上修建神庙，任命各样的人做祭司，他们并非利未人。耶罗波安规定每年八月十五日为节期，好像犹大的节期一样。他自己在伯特利的祭坛上向金牛犊献祭烧香，又派神庙的祭司在献祭中司职。在八月十五日，就是他私自为以色列人定为节期的日子，他在伯特利的祭坛上烧香。

他不但步尼八的儿子耶罗波安的后尘，还娶了西顿王叶巴力的女儿耶洗别为妻，供奉、祭拜巴力。

他做耶和华视为恶的事，一生没有离开尼八的儿子耶罗波安使以色列人犯的那些罪。

约哈斯做耶和华视为恶的事，重蹈尼八的儿子耶罗波安的覆辙，使以色列人陷入罪中。他始终没有离开那些罪。

正如圣经上说：“我要摧毁智者的智慧，废弃明哲的聪明。”这个世代所谓的智者、学者、雄辩家在哪里？上帝岂不是把这世上的智慧都变成愚昧了吗？

耶户下令召开祭拜巴力的庄严聚会，于是他们发出通告。耶户派人送信到以色列各地，凡拜巴力的人全都来了，没有一个缺席。他们把整个巴力庙塞得满满的。耶户吩咐掌管礼服的人拿出礼服给他们穿上，然后他和利甲的儿子约拿达进庙向他们宣布说：“你们仔细察看，这里不可有事奉耶和华的人，只允许拜巴力的人在这里。”耶户和约拿达在庙里献上祭物和燔祭。此前，他预先派了八十人在庙外守着，并下令：“我把这些人交在你们手中，谁放走一个，谁就要以命抵偿。”耶户献完燔祭出来，便命令卫兵和将领说：“进去杀死他们，不要放走一人。”卫兵和将领进庙挥刀杀了他们，把尸首抛出去后，走入庙的内殿，将巴力神柱搬出去烧了。他们摧毁了巴力的神柱和庙，把庙当作厕所，至今未变。这样，耶户从以色列扫除了巴力。可是，他重蹈尼八的儿子耶罗波安的覆辙，拜伯特利和但两地的金牛犊，使以色列人陷入罪中。耶和华对耶户说：“你已经做了我视为正的事，照我的意思除掉了亚哈一家，因此你的子孙必做以色列王，直到第四代。”但耶户没有全心全意地遵守以色列的上帝耶和华的律法，却重蹈耶罗波安的覆辙，使以色列人陷入罪中。

他步耶罗波安的后尘，做耶和华视为恶的事，使以色列人陷入罪中。

拿答像他父亲一样作恶多端，行耶和华视为恶的事，使以色列人陷入罪中。

这事以后，耶罗波安没有改邪归正，他任命各种人做丘坛的祭司，不管谁想做祭司，他都封立他们。
