Elisha responded,“ By the life of the LORD of Armies, before whom I stand: If I did not have respect for King Jehoshaphat of Judah, I wouldn’t look at you; I would not take notice of you.

以利沙说：“我指着所侍奉永生的万军耶和华起誓，我若不看犹大王约沙法的情面，必不理你，不顾你。

以利沙说：“我指着所事奉永生的万军之耶和华起誓，我若不看犹大王约沙法的情面，必不理你，不睬你。

以利沙说：“我指着所事奉永生的万军之耶和华起誓，我若不看犹大王约沙法的情面，必不理你，不睬你。

以利沙说：“我事奉的是永活的万军之耶和华，我凭祂起誓，若不是看犹大王约沙法的情面，我决不理你，也不会见你。

以利沙说：“我指着我所事奉永活的万军耶和华起誓，若不是看犹大王约沙法的情面，我根本不会理你，看也不看你。

以利沙說：「我指着所事奉永生的萬軍耶和華起誓，我若不看猶大王約沙法的情面，必不理你，不顧你。

以利沙說：「我指着所事奉永生的萬軍之耶和華起誓，我若不看猶大王約沙法的情面，必不理你，不睬你。

以利沙說：「我指着所事奉永生的萬軍之耶和華起誓，我若不看猶大王約沙法的情面，必不理你，不睬你。

以利沙說：「我事奉的是永活的萬軍之耶和華，我憑祂起誓，若不是看猶大王約沙法的情面，我決不理你，也不會見你。

以利沙說：“我指著我所事奉永活的萬軍耶和華起誓，若不是看猶大王約沙法的情面，我根本不會理你，看也不看你。

以利沙說：『我指着我侍立在他面前的永活萬軍永恆主來起誓，我若不是看猶大王約沙法的情面，我就不理你、不看你。

以利沙曰、我指所事萬軍之主、維生之耶和華而誓、我若不視猶大王約沙法在此、必不顧爾、不見爾、

以利沙曰、我指所事萬有之主耶和華以誓、惟猶大王約沙法、我眷顧之、若祇爾一人、豈得蒙我眷顧乎。

以利沙曰、我指所事萬有之永生主而誓、我若不顧猶大王約沙法之面、我必不視爾、不顧爾、

Elisha said,“ As surely as the Lord Almighty lives, whom I serve, if I did not have respect for the presence of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, I would not pay any attention to you.

Elisha said,“ I serve the Lord who rules over all. You can be sure that he lives. And you can be just as sure that I have respect for Jehoshaphat, the king of Judah. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t pay any attention to you.

And Elisha said,“ As the Lord of hosts lives, before whom I stand, were it not that I have regard for Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, I would neither look at you nor see you.

Elisha replied,“ As surely as the Lord Almighty lives, whom I serve, I wouldn’t even bother with you except for my respect for King Jehoshaphat of Judah.

Elisha said,“ As surely as the Lord of armies lives, before whom I stand, if I did not respect Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, I would not look at you nor see you.

And Elisha said,“ As the Lord of hosts lives, before whom I stand, surely were it not that I regard the presence of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, I would not look at you, nor see you.

And Elisha said, As Jehovah of hosts liveth, before whom I stand, surely, were it not that I regard the presence of Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, I would not look toward thee, nor see thee.

Elisha responded,“ As the Lord of Hosts lives, I stand before Him. If I did not have respect for King Jehoshaphat of Judah, I would not look at you; I wouldn’t take notice of you.

And Elisha said,[ As] the LORD of hosts liveth, before whom I stand, surely, were it not that I regard the presence of Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, I would not look toward thee, nor see thee.

Elisha said,“ As certainly as the LORD who rules over all lives( whom I serve), if I did not respect King Jehoshaphat of Judah, I would not pay attention to you or acknowledge you.

Elisha said,“ As Yahweh of Armies lives, before whom I stand, surely, were it not that I respect the presence of Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, I would not look toward you, nor see you.

Now Elijah the Tishbite, from the Gilead settlers, said to Ahab,“ As the LORD God of Israel lives, in whose presence I stand, there will be no dew or rain during these years except by my command!”

But Elisha said,“ As the LORD lives, in whose presence I stand, I will not accept it.” Naaman urged him to accept it, but he refused.

However, some good is found in you, for you have eradicated the Asherah poles from the land and have determined in your heart to seek God.”Jehoshaphat lived in Jerusalem, and once again he went out among the people from Beer-sheba to the hill country of Ephraim and brought them back to the LORD, the God of their ancestors.

who despises the one rejected by the LORD but honors those who fear the LORD, who keeps his word whatever the cost,

Now the LORD was with Jehoshaphat because he walked in the former ways of his ancestor David. He did not seek the Baalsbut sought the God of his father and walked by his commands, not according to the practices of Israel.So the LORD established the kingdom in his hand. Then all Judah brought him tribute, and he had riches and honor in abundance.He took great pride in the LORD’s ways, and he again removed the high places and Asherah poles from Judah.In the third year of his reign, Jehoshaphat sent his officials— Ben-hail, Obadiah, Zechariah, Nethanel, and Micaiah— to teach in the cities of Judah.The Levites with them were Shemaiah, Nethaniah, Zebadiah, Asahel, Shemiramoth, Jehonathan, Adonijah, Tobijah, and Tob-adonijah; the priests, Elishama and Jehoram, were with these Levites.They taught throughout Judah, having the book of the LORD’s instruction with them. They went throughout the towns of Judah and taught the people.

Samuel replied to Saul,“ I will not return with you. Because you rejected the word of the LORD, the LORD has rejected you from being king over Israel.”When Samuel turned to go, Saul grabbed the corner of his robe, and it tore.Samuel said to him,“ The LORD has torn the kingship of Israel away from you today and has given it to your neighbor who is better than you.Furthermore, the Eternal One of Israel does not lie or change his mind, for he is not man who changes his mind.”Saul said,“ I have sinned. Please honor me now before the elders of my people and before Israel. Come back with me so I can bow in worship to the LORD your God.”Then Samuel went back, following Saul, and Saul bowed down to the LORD.

Ahab said to Elijah,“ So, my enemy, you’ve found me, have you?” He replied,“ I have found you because you devoted yourself to do what is evil in the LORD’s sight.

So they sent their disciples to him, along with the Herodians.“ Teacher,” they said,“ we know that you are truthful and teach truthfully the way of God. You don’t care what anyone thinks nor do you show partiality.

Then Daniel answered the king,“ You may keep your gifts and give your rewards to someone else; however, I will read the inscription for the king and make the interpretation known to him.Your Majesty, the Most High God gave sovereignty, greatness, glory, and majesty to your predecessor Nebuchadnezzar.Because of the greatness he gave him, all peoples, nations, and languages were terrified and fearful of him. He killed anyone he wanted and kept alive anyone he wanted; he exalted anyone he wanted and humbled anyone he wanted.But when his heart was exalted and his spirit became arrogant, he was deposed from his royal throne and his glory was taken from him.He was driven away from people, his mind was like an animal’s, he lived with the wild donkeys, he was fed grass like cattle, and his body was drenched with dew from the sky until he acknowledged that the Most High God is ruler over human kingdoms and sets anyone he wants over them.“ But you his successor, Belshazzar, have not humbled your heart, even though you knew all this.Instead, you have exalted yourself against the Lord of the heavens. The vessels from his house were brought to you, and as you and your nobles, wives, and concubines drank wine from them, you praised the gods made of silver and gold, bronze, iron, wood, and stone, which do not see or hear or understand. But you have not glorified the God who holds your life-breath in his hand and who controls the whole course of your life.

But the LORD had said to Ahijah,“ Jeroboam’s wife is coming soon to ask you about her son, for he is sick. You are to say such and such to her. When she arrives, she will be disguised.”When Ahijah heard the sound of her feet entering the door, he said,“ Come in, wife of Jeroboam! Why are you disguised? I have bad news for you.Go tell Jeroboam,‘ This is what the LORD God of Israel says: I raised you up from among the people, appointed you ruler over my people Israel,tore the kingdom away from the house of David, and gave it to you. But you were not like my servant David, who kept my commands and followed me with all his heart, doing only what is right in my sight.You behaved more wickedly than all who were before you. In order to anger me, you have proceeded to make for yourself other gods and cast images, but you have flung me behind your back.Because of all this, I am about to bring disaster on the house of Jeroboam: I will wipe out all of Jeroboam’s males, both slave and free, in Israel; I will sweep away the house of Jeroboam as one sweeps away dung until it is all gone!Anyone who belongs to Jeroboam and dies in the city, the dogs will eat, and anyone who dies in the field, the birds will eat, for the LORD has spoken!’“ As for you, get up and go to your house. When your feet enter the city, the boy will die.All Israel will mourn for him and bury him. He alone out of Jeroboam’s house will be given a proper burial because out of the house of Jeroboam something favorable to the LORD God of Israel was found in him.The LORD will raise up for himself a king over Israel, who will wipe out the house of Jeroboam. This is the day, yes, even today!For the LORD will strike Israel so that they will shake as a reed shakes in water. He will uproot Israel from this good soil that he gave to their ancestors. He will scatter them beyond the Euphrates because they made their Asherah poles, angering the LORD.He will give up Israel because of Jeroboam’s sins that he committed and caused Israel to commit.”Then Jeroboam’s wife got up and left and went to Tirzah. As she was crossing the threshold of the house, the boy died.He was buried, and all Israel mourned for him, according to the word of the LORD he had spoken through his servant the prophet Ahijah.

Today, I am the one who has made you a fortified city, an iron pillar, and bronze walls against the whole land— against the kings of Judah, its officials, its priests, and the population.

Then Elijah said,“ As the LORD of Armies lives, in whose presence I stand, today I will present myself to Ahab.”
