But Jehoshaphat said,“ Isn’t there a prophet of Yahweh here, that we may inquire of Yahweh by him?” One of the king of Israel’s servants answered,“ Elisha the son of Shaphat, who poured water on the hands of Elijah, is here.”

But Jehoshaphat asked,“ Is there no prophet of the Lord here, through whom we may inquire of the Lord?” An officer of the king of Israel answered,“ Elisha son of Shaphat is here. He used to pour water on the hands of Elijah.”

But Jehoshaphat asked,“ Isn’t there a prophet of the Lord here? Can’t we ask the Lord for advice through him?” An officer of the king of Israel answered,“ Elisha is here. He’s the son of Shaphat. Elisha used to serve Elijah.”

And Jehoshaphat said,“ Is there no prophet of the Lord here, through whom we may inquire of the Lord?” Then one of the king of Israel’s servants answered,“ Elisha the son of Shaphat is here, who poured water on the hands of Elijah.”

But King Jehoshaphat of Judah asked,“ Is there no prophet of the Lord with us? If there is, we can ask the Lord what to do through him.” One of King Joram’s officers replied,“ Elisha son of Shaphat is here. He used to be Elijah’s personal assistant.”

But Jehoshaphat said,“ Isn’t there a prophet of the LORD here? Let’s inquire of the LORD through him.” One of the servants of the king of Israel answered,“ Elisha son of Shaphat, who used to pour water on Elijah’s hands, is here.”

But Jehoshaphat said,“ Is there no prophet of the Lord here, that we may inquire of the Lord by him?” And one of the king of Israel’s servants answered and said,“ Elisha the son of Shaphat is here, who used to pour water on the hands of Elijah.”

But Jehoshaphat said,“ Is there no prophet of the Lord here, that we may inquire of the Lord by him?” So one of the servants of the king of Israel answered and said,“ Elisha the son of Shaphat is here, who poured water on the hands of Elijah.”

But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of Jehovah, that we may inquire of Jehovah by him? And one of the king of Israel’s servants answered and said, Elisha the son of Shaphat is here, who poured water on the hands of Elijah.

But Jehoshaphat said,“ Isn’t there a prophet of the Lord here? Let’s inquire of Yahweh through him.” One of the servants of the king of Israel answered,“ Elisha son of Shaphat, who used to pour water on Elijah’s hands, is here.”

But Jehoshaphat said,[ Is there] not here a prophet of the LORD, that we may enquire of the LORD by him? And one of the king of Israel’s servants answered and said, Here[ is] Elisha the son of Shaphat, which poured water on the hands of Elijah.

Jehoshaphat asked,“ Is there no prophet of the LORD here that we might seek the LORD’s direction?” One of the servants of the king of Israel answered,“ Elisha son of Shapat is here; he used to be Elijah’s servant.”

But Jehoshaphat said,“ Isn’t there here a prophet of Yahweh, that we may inquire of him?”

He returned from following him, and took the yoke of oxen, and killed them, and boiled their meat with the instruments of the oxen, and gave to the people, and they ate. Then he arose, and went after Elijah, and served him.

You call me,‘ Teacher’ and‘ Lord.’ You say so correctly, for so I am.If I then, the Lord and the Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.

arose from supper, and laid aside his outer garments. He took a towel and wrapped a towel around his waist.Then he poured water into the basin, and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around him.

For because you didn’t carry it at first, Yahweh our God broke out in anger against us, because we didn’t seek him according to the ordinance.”

being approved by good works, if she has brought up children, if she has been hospitable to strangers, if she has washed the saints’ feet, if she has relieved the afflicted, and if she has diligently followed every good work.

So Saul died for his trespass which he committed against Yahweh, because of Yahweh’s word, which he didn’t keep; and also because he asked counsel of one who had a familiar spirit, to inquire,

Now after the death of Moses the servant of Yahweh, Yahweh spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ servant, saying,

Then all the children of Israel and all the people went up, and came to Bethel, and wept, and sat there before Yahweh, and fasted that day until evening; then they offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before Yahweh.The children of Israel asked Yahweh( for the ark of the covenant of God was there in those days,and Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, stood before it in those days), saying,“ Shall I yet again go out to battle against the children of Benjamin my brother, or shall I cease?” Yahweh said,“ Go up; for tomorrow I will deliver him into your hand.”

But you know the proof of him, that as a child serves a father, so he served with me in furtherance of the Good News.

All the people arose as one man, saying,“ None of us will go to his tent, neither will any of us turn to his house.But now this is the thing which we will do to Gibeah: we will go up against it by lot;and we will take ten men of one hundred throughout all the tribes of Israel, and one hundred of one thousand, and a thousand out of ten thousand to get food for the people, that they may do, when they come to Gibeah of Benjamin, according to all the folly that the men of Gibeah have done in Israel.”So all the men of Israel were gathered against the city, knit together as one man.

The men sampled their provisions, and didn’t ask counsel from Yahweh’s mouth.

Nevertheless he held to the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, with which he made Israel to sin. He didn’t depart from them.

He went from there to Mount Carmel, and from there he returned to Samaria.Now Jehoram the son of Ahab began to reign over Israel in Samaria in the eighteenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and reigned twelve years.

The children of Israel arose, went up to Bethel, and asked counsel of God. They asked,“ Who shall go up for us first to battle against the children of Benjamin?” Yahweh said,“ Judah first.”

Surely the Lord Yahweh will do nothing, unless he reveals his secret to his servants the prophets.

But not so with you. But one who is the greater among you, let him become as the younger, and one who is governing, as one who serves.For who is greater, one who sits at the table, or one who serves? Isn’t it he who sits at the table? But I am among you as one who serves.

David inquired of God, saying,“ Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will you deliver them into my hand?” Yahweh said to him,“ Go up; for I will deliver them into your hand.”

Now let a little water be fetched, wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree.

We see no miraculous signs. There is no longer any prophet, neither is there among us anyone who knows how long.

David inquired again of God; and God said to him,“ You shall not go up after them. Turn away from them, and come on them opposite the mulberry trees.

The children of Israel went up and wept before Yahweh until evening; and they asked of Yahweh, saying,“ Shall I again draw near to battle against the children of Benjamin my brother?” Yahweh said,“ Go up against him.”
