But Jehoshaphat asked,“ Is there no prophet of the Lord here, through whom we may inquire of the Lord?” An officer of the king of Israel answered,“ Elisha son of Shaphat is here. He used to pour water on the hands of Elijah.”

But Jehoshaphat asked,“ Isn’t there a prophet of the Lord here? Can’t we ask the Lord for advice through him?” An officer of the king of Israel answered,“ Elisha is here. He’s the son of Shaphat. Elisha used to serve Elijah.”

And Jehoshaphat said,“ Is there no prophet of the Lord here, through whom we may inquire of the Lord?” Then one of the king of Israel’s servants answered,“ Elisha the son of Shaphat is here, who poured water on the hands of Elijah.”

But King Jehoshaphat of Judah asked,“ Is there no prophet of the Lord with us? If there is, we can ask the Lord what to do through him.” One of King Joram’s officers replied,“ Elisha son of Shaphat is here. He used to be Elijah’s personal assistant.”

But Jehoshaphat said,“ Isn’t there a prophet of the LORD here? Let’s inquire of the LORD through him.” One of the servants of the king of Israel answered,“ Elisha son of Shaphat, who used to pour water on Elijah’s hands, is here.”

But Jehoshaphat said,“ Is there no prophet of the Lord here, that we may inquire of the Lord by him?” And one of the king of Israel’s servants answered and said,“ Elisha the son of Shaphat is here, who used to pour water on the hands of Elijah.”

But Jehoshaphat said,“ Is there no prophet of the Lord here, that we may inquire of the Lord by him?” So one of the servants of the king of Israel answered and said,“ Elisha the son of Shaphat is here, who poured water on the hands of Elijah.”

But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of Jehovah, that we may inquire of Jehovah by him? And one of the king of Israel’s servants answered and said, Elisha the son of Shaphat is here, who poured water on the hands of Elijah.

But Jehoshaphat said,“ Isn’t there a prophet of the Lord here? Let’s inquire of Yahweh through him.” One of the servants of the king of Israel answered,“ Elisha son of Shaphat, who used to pour water on Elijah’s hands, is here.”

But Jehoshaphat said,[ Is there] not here a prophet of the LORD, that we may enquire of the LORD by him? And one of the king of Israel’s servants answered and said, Here[ is] Elisha the son of Shaphat, which poured water on the hands of Elijah.

Jehoshaphat asked,“ Is there no prophet of the LORD here that we might seek the LORD’s direction?” One of the servants of the king of Israel answered,“ Elisha son of Shapat is here; he used to be Elijah’s servant.”

But Jehoshaphat said,“ Isn’t there a prophet of Yahweh here, that we may inquire of Yahweh by him?” One of the king of Israel’s servants answered,“ Elisha the son of Shaphat, who poured water on the hands of Elijah, is here.”

But Jehoshaphat asked,“ Is there no longer a prophet of the Lord here whom we can inquire of?”

So Elisha left him and went back. He took his yoke of oxen and slaughtered them. He burned the plowing equipment to cook the meat and gave it to the people, and they ate. Then he set out to follow Elijah and became his servant.

“ You call me‘ Teacher’ and‘ Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am.Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet.

so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist.After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him.

It was because you, the Levites, did not bring it up the first time that the Lord our God broke out in anger against us. We did not inquire of him about how to do it in the prescribed way.”

and is well known for her good deeds, such as bringing up children, showing hospitality, washing the feet of the Lord’s people, helping those in trouble and devoting herself to all kinds of good deeds.

Saul died because he was unfaithful to the Lord; he did not keep the word of the Lord and even consulted a medium for guidance,

After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, the Lord said to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ aide:

Then all the Israelites, the whole army, went up to Bethel, and there they sat weeping before the Lord. They fasted that day until evening and presented burnt offerings and fellowship offerings to the Lord.And the Israelites inquired of the Lord.( In those days the ark of the covenant of God was there,with Phinehas son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, ministering before it.) They asked,“ Shall we go up again to fight against the Benjamites, our fellow Israelites, or not?” The Lord responded,“ Go, for tomorrow I will give them into your hands.”

But you know that Timothy has proved himself, because as a son with his father he has served with me in the work of the gospel.

All the men rose up together as one, saying,“ None of us will go home. No, not one of us will return to his house.But now this is what we’ll do to Gibeah: We’ll go up against it in the order decided by casting lots.We’ll take ten men out of every hundred from all the tribes of Israel, and a hundred from a thousand, and a thousand from ten thousand, to get provisions for the army. Then, when the army arrives at Gibeah in Benjamin, it can give them what they deserve for this outrageous act done in Israel.”So all the Israelites got together and united as one against the city.

The Israelites sampled their provisions but did not inquire of the Lord.

Nevertheless he clung to the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, which he had caused Israel to commit; he did not turn away from them.

And he went on to Mount Carmel and from there returned to Samaria.Joram son of Ahab became king of Israel in Samaria in the eighteenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and he reigned twelve years.

The Israelites went up to Bethel and inquired of God. They said,“ Who of us is to go up first to fight against the Benjamites?” The Lord replied,“ Judah shall go first.”

Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets.

But you are not to be like that. Instead, the greatest among you should be like the youngest, and the one who rules like the one who serves.For who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who is at the table? But I am among you as one who serves.

so David inquired of God:“ Shall I go and attack the Philistines? Will you deliver them into my hands?” The Lord answered him,“ Go, I will deliver them into your hands.”

Let a little water be brought, and then you may all wash your feet and rest under this tree.

We are given no signs from God; no prophets are left, and none of us knows how long this will be.

so David inquired of God again, and God answered him,“ Do not go directly after them, but circle around them and attack them in front of the poplar trees.

The Israelites went up and wept before the Lord until evening, and they inquired of the Lord. They said,“ Shall we go up again to fight against the Benjamites, our fellow Israelites?” The Lord answered,“ Go up against them.”
