On the seventh day of the fifth month, in the nineteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, Nebuzaradan commander of the imperial guard, an official of the king of Babylon, came to Jerusalem.

Nebuzaradan was an official of the king of Babylon. In fact, he was commander of the royal guard. He came to Jerusalem. It was in the 19th year that Nebuchadnezzar was king of Babylon. It was on the seventh day of the fifth month.

In the fifth month, on the seventh day of the month— that was the nineteenth year of King Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon— Nebuzaradan, the captain of the bodyguard, a servant of the king of Babylon, came to Jerusalem.

On August 14 of that year, which was the nineteenth year of King Nebuchadnezzar’s reign, Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guard and an official of the Babylonian king, arrived in Jerusalem.

On the seventh day of the fifth month— which was the nineteenth year of King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon— Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guards, a servant of the king of Babylon, entered Jerusalem.

巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒执政第十九年五月十日，他的臣仆——护卫长尼布撒拉旦进入耶路撒冷，放火焚烧耶和华的殿、王宫及城内所有的房屋。他烧毁了所有重要建筑。他率领的迦勒底的军队拆毁了耶路撒冷四围的城墙。护卫长尼布撒拉旦掳去最贫穷的人、城中的余民、投降的人和剩下的技工，只留下一些最贫穷的人，让他们照料葡萄园、耕种田地。

耶利米带着锁链跟耶路撒冷和犹大被掳的人一起被带往巴比伦，但护卫长尼布撒拉旦在拉玛释放了他。这事之后，耶和华的话传给了耶利米。护卫长释放耶利米之前对他说：“你的上帝耶和华曾说要在这里降下灾祸，现在果然应验了。你们遭灾是因为你们得罪了耶和华，不听祂的话。现在我解除你手上的锁链，释放你。你可以跟我去巴比伦，我必善待你；如果你不想去，也可以。你看，整片土地都在你眼前，你想去哪里都可以。

世上的君王和居民都不相信敌人能闯进耶路撒冷的城门。

迦勒底人放火焚烧王宫和民居，拆毁耶路撒冷的城墙。护卫长尼布撒拉旦把城中的余民以及投降的人都掳到巴比伦，却让那些一贫如洗的穷人留在犹大，将葡萄园和田地分给他们。至于耶利米，巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒吩咐护卫长尼布撒拉旦：“你好好照顾耶利米，切不可伤害他。他有什么要求，你都要满足。”于是，护卫长尼布撒拉旦、尼布沙斯班、尼甲·沙利薛等巴比伦王的所有将领，便派人把耶利米从护卫兵的院子提出来，让沙番的孙子、亚希甘的儿子基大利带他回家。从此，耶利米就生活在百姓当中。

巴比伦王以未·米罗达在他执政的元年十二月二十七日，即犹大王约雅斤被掳后第三十七年，施恩释放了约雅斤，

“万军之耶和华说，‘四月、五月、七月、十月的禁食必成为犹大家欢喜快乐的日子和幸福的节期。因此，你们要喜爱真理与和平。

犹大王约雅斤及其母亲、臣仆和文官武将向尼布甲尼撒投降。巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒在他执政第八年俘虏了约雅斤，
