於是城破、王與諸戰士、由近王園兩城中之門、夜逃遁、迦勒底人在城四圍、王由平原平原或作亞拉巴下同而走、

Then the city wall was broken through, and the whole army fled at night through the gate between the two walls near the king’s garden, though the Babylonians were surrounding the city. They fled toward the Arabah,

Then the Babylonians broke through the city wall. Judah’s whole army ran away at night. They went out through the gate between the two walls near the king’s garden. They escaped even though the Babylonians surrounded the city. Judah’s army ran toward the Arabah Valley.

Then a breach was made in the city, and all the men of war fled by night by the way of the gate between the two walls, by the king’s garden, and the Chaldeans were around the city. And they went in the direction of the Arabah.

Then a section of the city wall was broken down. Since the city was surrounded by the Babylonians, the soldiers waited for nightfall and escaped through the gate between the two walls behind the king’s garden. Then they headed toward the Jordan Valley.

四月九日、城裏大鬧饑荒，甚至當地的人民都沒有糧食。城被攻個破口，所有的軍兵就在夜間從靠近王家園子兩城牆中間的門那路向出城逃跑；那時迦勒底人正在四圍攻城；他們就按亞拉巴的路向走。迦勒底人的軍隊追趕了王，在耶利哥的原野把西底家追上；他的全軍都離開他潰散了。迦勒底人將王捉住，把他帶上哈馬地的利比拉巴比倫王那裏；巴比倫王就宣佈判語定他的罪。又在西底家眼前將他的兒子們都宰殺掉，也在利比拉宰殺了猶大所有的首領。並將西底家的一對眼睛都弄瞎了，然後用銅鍊鎖着他；巴比倫王將他帶到巴比倫去，給下在牢獄裏，直到他死的日子。

叫他們被饑荒所嗍乾，被高熱症和苦毒病所吞滅；我必打發野獸的牙齒去咬他們，跟塵土中蛇類的毒素去害他們。外頭有刀劍、內室有恐怖，使壯丁和處女、喫奶的同白髮的、盡都喪亡。

泉門是米斯巴區長各荷西的兒子沙崙修造的：他們重造了那門，蓋了門頂，安立了門扇戶樞和門閂；又建造了靠近王家園子的西羅亞池的牆，直到那從大衛城下來的臺階。

他們中間的人君必在天黑壓壓時將物件搭在肩頭上而出去；他必把牆挖通了，從那裏出去；他必將臉蒙住，使他不能以眼看到地。

我要向你們板着臉，你們就會在仇敵面前被擊敗；恨惡你們的必管轄你們；沒有人追趕，你們也逃跑。

西底家十一年四月九日、城被攻破。耶路撒冷被攻取的時候，巴比倫王的眾貴族：尼甲沙利薛、三甲尼波撒西金、要人首領、尼甲沙利薛、貴族首領、和巴比倫王其餘的一切貴族、都來，坐在中門。猶大王西底家和所有的軍兵看見他們，便逃跑，就在夜間從王家園子的路、兩城牆中間的門、出城，按亞拉巴的路向出走。迦勒底人的軍隊追趕他們，在耶利哥原野追上了西底家，將他拿住，把他帶上去到哈馬地的利比拉、巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒那裏；尼布甲尼撒就宣佈判語定他的罪。巴比倫王在利比拉當西底家眼前將他的眾兒子都宰殺掉；巴比倫王也宰殺了猶大所有顯貴的人，並將西底家的一對眼睛都弄瞎了，然後用銅鍊鎖着他，要將他帶到巴比倫去。

若不是他們的磐石把他們交付出來，若不是永恆主把他們送交給我們，我們一人怎能追趕他們千人呢？我們兩個人怎能使他們萬人逃跑呢？

『你們上她的葡萄樹行列去行毁壞，但不可盡行毁滅；要把她的蔓延枝子除掉，因為它們不屬於永恆主。

『永恆主必使你在仇敵面前被擊敗；你從一條路出去攻打他們，必由七條路、從他們面前逃跑；你竟要成為地上萬國所引為令人不寒而慄的例子。

至於你們剩下的人呢、他們在仇敵之地時、我必使怯懦餒弱之氣進他們的心；飄蕩落葉的響聲也會追趕他們；他們必逃跑、像人逃避刀劍；沒有人追趕，他們也跌倒。
