Jehoiakim rested with his ancestors. And Jehoiachin his son succeeded him as king.

Jehoiakim joined the members of his family who had already died. Jehoiakim’s son Jehoiachin became the next king after him.

So Jehoiakim slept with his fathers, and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his place.

When Jehoiakim died, his son Jehoiachin became the next king.

So Jehoiakim lay down with his fathers, and his son Jehoiachin became king in his place.

So Jehoiakim rested with his fathers. Then Jehoiachin his son reigned in his place.

Therefore, this is what the LORD says concerning Jehoiakim son of Josiah, king of Judah: They will not mourn for him, saying,“ Woe, my brother!” or“ Woe, my sister!” They will not mourn for him, saying,“ Woe, lord! Woe, his majesty!”He will be buried like a donkey, dragged off and thrown outside Jerusalem’s gates.

Therefore, this is what the LORD says concerning King Jehoiakim of Judah: He will have no one to sit on David’s throne, and his corpse will be thrown out to be exposed to the heat of day and the frost of night.

Now King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon attacked him and bound him in bronze shackles to take him to Babylon.
