Manasseh had spilled the blood of many people who weren’t guilty of doing anything wrong. In fact, he spilled so much of their blood that he filled Jerusalem with it. So the Lord refused to forgive him.

免得无辜人的血流在耶和华—你上帝所赐你为业的地中间，血就归到你身上了。

这样，你们就不会污秽所住之地，因为血能使地污秽；若有血流在地上，除非流那杀人者的血，否则那地就不得洁净。

因为他们和他们祖先，并犹大君王都离弃我，使这地方与我疏远，在这里向素不认识的别神烧香，又使这地方遍满无辜人的血。

流无辜人的血，就是自己儿女的血，用他们祭祀迦南的偶像，那地就被血玷污了。
