It was because of the Lord’s anger that all this happened to Jerusalem and Judah, and in the end he thrust them from his presence. Now Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

The enemies of Jerusalem and Judah attacked them because the Lord was angry. In the end the Lord threw them out of his land. Zedekiah also refused to remain under the control of Nebuchadnezzar.

For because of the anger of the Lord it came to the point in Jerusalem and Judah that he cast them out from his presence. And Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

These things happened because of the Lord’s anger against the people of Jerusalem and Judah, until he finally banished them from his presence and sent them into exile. Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

Because of the LORD’s anger, it came to the point in Jerusalem and Judah that he finally banished them from his presence. Then Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

尼布甲尼撒王曾叫他指着上帝起誓，他卻背叛，硬着頸項，內心頑固，不歸向耶和華－以色列的上帝。

我就照這一切話對猶大王西底家說：「你們要把頸項放在巴比倫王的軛下，服事他和他的百姓，就得存活。你和你的百姓何必因刀劍、饑荒、瘟疫而死亡，像耶和華所論不肯服事巴比倫王的國家呢？不可聽那些先知對你們所說的話，他們說：『你們必不致服事巴比倫王』，其實他們向你們傳的是假預言。耶和華說：『我並未差遣他們，他們卻託我的名傳假預言，使我將你們和向你們說預言的那些先知趕出去，一同滅亡。』」

這不法的人來，是靠撒但的運作，行各樣的異能、神蹟和一切虛假的奇事，並且在那沉淪的人身上行各樣不義的詭詐，因為他們不領受愛真理的心，好讓他們得救。故此，上帝就給他們一個引發錯誤的心，叫他們信從虛謊，

但希實本王西宏不肯讓我們從他那裏經過，因為耶和華－你的上帝使他性情頑梗，內心剛硬，為要把他交在你手中，像今日一樣。

他卻背叛巴比倫王，差派使者前往埃及，要求埃及人給他馬匹和許多人。他豈能亨通呢？這樣做的人豈能逃脫呢？他背了約豈能逃脫呢？主耶和華說：我指着我的永生起誓，他定要死在巴比倫，就是巴比倫王所在之處；因為巴比倫王立他為王，他竟輕看向王所起的誓，背棄王與他所立的約。當敵人建土堆，築堡壘，要殲滅許多人時，法老雖有強大軍隊和大批人馬，在戰場上還是不能幫助他。他輕看誓言，背棄盟約，看哪，雖已投降，卻又做這一切的事，他必不能逃脫。所以主耶和華如此說：我指着我的永生起誓，他既輕看我的誓言，背棄我的約，我必使這罪歸到他頭上。我要把我的網撒在他身上，他就被我的羅網纏住。我要帶他到巴比倫，在那裏因他背叛我的罪懲罰他。

耶利米對西底家說：「耶和華－萬軍之上帝、以色列的上帝如此說：你若歸順巴比倫王的官長，你的命就必存活，這城也不致被火焚燒，你和你的全家都必存活。你若不歸順巴比倫王的官長，這城必交在迦勒底人手中。他們必用火焚燒，你也不得脫離他們的手。」西底家王對耶利米說：「我怕那些投降迦勒底人的猶大人，恐怕迦勒底人把我交在他們手中，他們就戲弄我。」耶利米說：「迦勒底人必不把你交出。求你聽從我對你所說耶和華的話，這樣對你有好處，你的命也必存活。你若不肯歸順，耶和華指示我的話是這樣：

因為他們離棄我，向別神燒香，用他們手所做的一切惹我發怒，所以我的憤怒必向這地方發作，總不止息。』

瑣安的官長極其愚昧，法老智慧的謀士籌劃愚謀；你們怎敢對法老說：「我是智慧人的子孫，是古代國王的後裔？」你的智慧人在哪裏？萬軍之耶和華向埃及所定的旨意，他們既然知道，就讓他們告訴你吧！瑣安的官長愚昧，挪弗的官長受蒙蔽；作埃及支派棟梁的，帶領埃及走錯了路。耶和華使歪曲的靈滲入埃及中間，讓他們使埃及一切所做的都出差錯，好像醉酒之人嘔吐時東倒西歪一樣。

所以耶和華的怒氣向這地發作，將這書上所寫的一切詛咒都降在這地上。

因為這一次我要使一切的災禍臨到你自己，你臣僕和你百姓的身上，為要叫你知道在全地沒有像我的。現在，我若伸手用瘟疫攻擊你和你的百姓，你就會從地上除滅了。然而，我讓你存活，是為了要使你看見我的大能，並要使我的名傳遍全地。可是你仍然向我的百姓自高自大，不放他們走。

智慧人在哪裏？文士在哪裏？這世上的辯士在哪裏？上帝豈不是已使這世上的智慧變成愚拙了嗎？
