It was because of the Lord’s anger that all this happened to Jerusalem and Judah, and in the end he thrust them from his presence. Now Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

The enemies of Jerusalem and Judah attacked them because the Lord was angry. In the end the Lord threw them out of his land. Zedekiah also refused to remain under the control of Nebuchadnezzar.

For because of the anger of the Lord it came to the point in Jerusalem and Judah that he cast them out from his presence. And Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

These things happened because of the Lord’s anger against the people of Jerusalem and Judah, until he finally banished them from his presence and sent them into exile. Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

我就照这一切的话对犹大王西底家说：“要把你们的颈项放在巴比伦王的轭下，服侍他和他的百姓，便得存活。你和你的百姓为何要因刀剑、饥荒、瘟疫死亡，正如耶和华论到不服侍巴比伦王的那国说的话呢？不可听那些先知对你们所说的话；他们说：‘你们不致服侍巴比伦王’，其实他们向你们说假预言。耶和华说：‘我并没有打发他们，他们却托我的名说假预言，好使我将你们和向你们说预言的那些先知赶出去，一同灭亡。’”

这不法的人来，是照撒但的运动，行各样的异能、神迹，和一切虚假的奇事，并且在那沉沦的人身上行各样出于不义的诡诈；因他们不领受爱真理的心，使他们得救。故此，神就给他们一个生发错误的心，叫他们信从虚谎，

但希实本王西宏不容我们从他那里经过；因为耶和华你的神使他心中刚硬，性情顽梗，为要将他交在你手中，像今日一样。

他却背叛巴比伦王，打发使者往埃及去，要他们给他马匹和多民。他岂能亨通呢？行这样事的人岂能逃脱呢？他背约岂能逃脱呢？他轻看向王所起的誓，背弃王与他所立的约。主耶和华说：我指着我的永生起誓，他定要死在立他作王、巴比伦王的京都。敌人筑垒造台，与他打仗的时候，为要剪除多人，法老虽领大军队和大群众，还是不能帮助他。他轻看誓言，背弃盟约，已经投降，却又做这一切的事，他必不能逃脱。”所以主耶和华如此说：“我指着我的永生起誓，他既轻看指我所起的誓，背弃指我所立的约，我必要使这罪归在他头上。我必将我的网撒在他身上，他必在我的网罗中缠住。我必带他到巴比伦，并要在那里因他干犯我的罪刑罚他。

耶利米对西底家说：“耶和华万军之神、以色列的神如此说：你若出去归降巴比伦王的首领，你的命就必存活，这城也不致被火焚烧，你和你的全家都必存活。你若不出去归降巴比伦王的首领，这城必交在迦勒底人手中。他们必用火焚烧，你也不得脱离他们的手。”西底家王对耶利米说：“我怕那些投降迦勒底人的犹大人，恐怕迦勒底人将我交在他们手中，他们戏弄我。”耶利米说：“迦勒底人必不将你交出。求你听从我对你所说耶和华的话，这样你必得好处，你的命也必存活。你若不肯出去，耶和华指示我的话乃是这样：

因为他们离弃我，向别神烧香，用他们手所做的惹我发怒，所以我的忿怒必向这地发作，总不止息。’

琐安的首领极其愚昧；法老大有智慧的谋士，所筹划的成为愚谋。你们怎敢对法老说：“我是智慧人的子孙，我是古王的后裔？”你的智慧人在哪里呢？万军之耶和华向埃及所定的旨意，他们可以知道，可以告诉你吧！琐安的首领都变为愚昧；挪弗的首领都受了迷惑。当埃及支派房角石的，使埃及人走错了路。耶和华使乖谬的灵搀入埃及中间；首领使埃及一切所做的都有差错，好像醉酒之人呕吐的时候东倒西歪一样。

所以耶和华的怒气向这地发作，将这书上所写的一切咒诅都降在这地上。

因为这一次我要叫一切的灾殃临到你和你臣仆并你百姓的身上，叫你知道在普天下没有像我的。我若伸手用瘟疫攻击你和你的百姓，你早就从地上除灭了。其实，我叫你存立，是特要向你显我的大能，并要使我的名传遍天下。你还向我的百姓自高，不容他们去吗？

智慧人在哪里？文士在哪里？这世上的辩士在哪里？神岂不是叫这世上的智慧变成愚拙吗？
