He carried all Jerusalem into exile: all the officers and fighting men, and all the skilled workers and artisans— a total of ten thousand. Only the poorest people of the land were left.

Nebuchadnezzar took all the people of Jerusalem to the land of Babylon as prisoners. That included all the officers and fighting men. It also included all the skilled workers. The total number of prisoners was 10,000. Only the poorest people were left in the land.

He carried away all Jerusalem and all the officials and all the mighty men of valor, 10,000 captives, and all the craftsmen and the smiths. None remained, except the poorest people of the land.

King Nebuchadnezzar took all of Jerusalem captive, including all the commanders and the best of the soldiers, craftsmen, and artisans— 10,000 in all. Only the poorest people were left in the land.

Then he led into exile all the people of Jerusalem and all the commanders and all the valiant warriors, ten thousand exiles, and all the craftsmen and the smiths. None were left except the poorest people of the land.

Also he carried into captivity all Jerusalem: all the captains and all the mighty men of valor, ten thousand captives, and all the craftsmen and smiths. None remained except the poorest people of the land.

But the captain of the guards left some of the poorest of the land to be vinedressers and farmers.

These are the people Nebuchadnezzar deported: in the seventh year, 3,023 Jews;

The king of Babylon brought captive into Babylon all seven thousand of the best soldiers and one thousand craftsmen and metalsmiths— all strong and fit for war.

In the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, on the fifth day of the month, while I was among the exiles by the Chebar Canal, the heavens were opened and I saw visions of God.On the fifth day of the month— it was the fifth year of King Jehoiachin’s exile—

All the commanders of the armies that were in the countryside— they and their men— heard that the king of Babylon had appointed Gedaliah son of Ahikam over the land. He had been put in charge of the men, women, and children from among the poorest of the land, who had not been deported to Babylon.

so that the kingdom would be humble and not exalt itself but would keep his covenant in order to endure.

But Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guards, left some of the poorest of the land to be vinedressers and farmers.

After King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon had deported Jeconiah son of Jehoiakim king of Judah, the officials of Judah, and the craftsmen and metalsmiths from Jerusalem and had brought them to Babylon, the LORD showed me two baskets of figs placed in front of the temple of the LORD.One basket contained very good figs, like early figs, but the other basket contained very bad figs, so bad they were inedible.The LORD said to me,“ What do you see, Jeremiah?” I said,“ Figs! The good figs are very good, but the bad figs are extremely bad, so bad they are inedible.”The word of the LORD came to me:“ This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: Like these good figs, so I regard as good the exiles from Judah I sent away from this place to the land of the Chaldeans.

Some Ziphites came up to Saul at Gibeah and said,“ Isn’t it true that David is hiding among us in the strongholds in Horesh on the hill of Hachilah south of Jeshimon?So now, whenever the king wants to come down, let him come down. As for us, we will be glad to hand him over to the king.”“ May you be blessed by the LORD,” replied Saul,“ for you have shown concern for me.Go and check again. Investigate where he goes and who has seen him there; they tell me he is extremely cunning.

This was after King Jeconiah, the queen mother, the court officials, the officials of Judah and Jerusalem, the craftsmen, and the metalsmiths had left Jerusalem.

However, Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guards, left in the land of Judah some of the poor people who owned nothing, and he gave them vineyards and fields at that time.

Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he became king, and he reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem. He did what was evil in the LORD’s sight.In the spring Nebuchadnezzar sent for him and brought him to Babylon along with the valuable articles of the LORD’s temple. Then he made Jehoiachin’s brother Zedekiah king over Judah and Jerusalem.
