Jehoiachin king of Judah, his mother, his attendants, his nobles and his officials all surrendered to him. In the eighth year of the reign of the king of Babylon, he took Jehoiachin prisoner.

Jehoiachin, the king of Judah, handed himself over to Nebuchadnezzar. Jehoiachin’s mother did the same thing. And so did all his attendants, nobles and officials. The king of Babylon took Jehoiachin away as his prisoner. It was in the eighth year of Nebuchadnezzar’s rule.

Then King Jehoiachin, along with the queen mother, his advisers, his commanders, and his officials, surrendered to the Babylonians. In the eighth year of Nebuchadnezzar’s reign, he took Jehoiachin prisoner.

King Jehoiachin of Judah, along with his mother, his servants, his commanders, and his officials, surrendered to the king of Babylon. So the king of Babylon took him captive in the eighth year of his reign.

巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒把猶大王約雅敬的兒子耶哥尼雅，和猶大的眾領袖、工匠與鐵匠從耶路撒冷擄到巴比倫去。這事以後，耶和華使我看見在耶和華的殿前面擺著兩筐無花果。

以下是尼布甲尼撒擄去的人民的數目：在他執政第七年，有猶大人三千零二十三名；

過了年，尼布甲尼撒派人去把約雅斤和耶和華殿裡的珍貴的器皿，一起帶到巴比倫來。他立了約雅斤的叔叔西底家，作猶大和耶路撒冷的王。

猶大王約雅斤被擄後第三十七年，就是巴比倫王以未．米羅達登基的那一年，十二月二十七日，他恩待（“恩待”原文作“使抬起頭來”）猶大王約雅斤，把他從獄中領出來，

以下這一封信，是耶利米先知從耶路撒冷寄給被擄的祭司、先知和眾民，以及尚存的長老，就是尼布甲尼撒從耶路撒冷擄到巴比倫去的。這是在耶哥尼雅王、太后、宮中的臣宰、猶大和耶路撒冷的領袖、工匠和鐵匠從耶路撒冷被擄走以後。

猶大王約西亞的兒子約雅敬第四年，就是巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒第一年，有話臨到耶利米，是關於猶大眾民的。

“你要對那叛逆的民族說：‘你們不知道這些事是甚麼意思嗎？’你要告訴他們：‘看哪！巴比倫王曾到耶路撒冷來，把其中的王和眾領袖擄去，帶他們到巴比倫那裡去。

耶利米對西底家說：“耶和華萬軍的神、以色列的神這樣說：‘你若出去歸降巴比倫王的將領，你的性命就可以存活；這城也不會被火焚燒，你和你一家都可以存活。但你若不出去歸降巴比倫王的將領，這城就必交在迦勒底人的手中；他們必放火燒毀這城，你自己也不能從他們的手裡逃脫。’”

猶大王約雅斤被擄後第三十七年，就是巴比倫王以未．米羅達登基的那一年，十二月二十五日，他恩待（“恩待”原文作“使抬起頭來”）猶大王約雅斤，把他從獄中領出來，

“我指著我的永生起誓（這是耶和華的宣告），猶大王約雅敬的兒子哥尼雅，雖然你是我右手上的印戒，我也要把你從手上脫下來，交在那些尋索你性命和你們懼怕的人手中，就是交在巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒和迦勒底人手中。我要把你和生你的母親驅趕到異地去，你們不是生在那裡，卻要死在那裡。你們（“你們”原文作“他們”）渴望歸回本國，卻不得回去。”哥尼雅這個人是被鄙視、被摔碎的瓶子，是沒有人喜悅的器皿嗎？他和他的後裔為甚麼被驅趕，被拋棄到他們不認識的地去呢？大地啊！大地啊！大地啊！要聽耶和華的話。耶和華這樣說：“你們要寫下，這人算為無子，他的一生毫無成就；因為他的後裔中沒有一人可以成功，能坐在大衛的王位上，再次統治猶大。”
