Jehoiachin king of Judah, his mother, his attendants, his nobles and his officials all surrendered to him. In the eighth year of the reign of the king of Babylon, he took Jehoiachin prisoner.

Jehoiachin, the king of Judah, handed himself over to Nebuchadnezzar. Jehoiachin’s mother did the same thing. And so did all his attendants, nobles and officials. The king of Babylon took Jehoiachin away as his prisoner. It was in the eighth year of Nebuchadnezzar’s rule.

巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒从耶路撒冷把犹大王约雅敬的儿子耶哥尼雅、犹大的官员、技工和工匠掳到巴比伦以后，耶和华使我看见两筐无花果放在祂的殿前。

以下是尼布甲尼撒掳去的人数：他执政第七年掳去三千零二十三名犹大人；

那年春天，尼布甲尼撒王派人把他和耶和华殿里的贵重器皿一同带到巴比伦。尼布甲尼撒另立约雅斤的叔叔西底迦做犹大和耶路撒冷的王。

巴比伦王以未·米罗达在他执政的元年十二月二十七日，即犹大王约雅斤被掳后第三十七年，施恩释放了约雅斤，

耶哥尼雅王、太后、宫廷侍臣、犹大和耶路撒冷的官员、技工和工匠被尼布甲尼撒王掳到巴比伦后，耶利米先知从耶路撒冷寄信给被掳之人中幸存的长老、先知和众民。

犹大王约西亚的儿子约雅敬执政第四年，即巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒元年，耶和华告诉了耶利米有关犹大百姓的事。

“你要对这些悖逆的人说，‘你们不明白这比喻的意思吗？’要告诉他们，巴比伦王攻取了耶路撒冷，把其中的君王和大臣掳到巴比伦，

耶利米说：“以色列的上帝——万军之上帝耶和华说，‘如果你出去向巴比伦王的将领投降，就可以保住你和你全家的性命，这城也不会被烧毁。但如果你不出去向巴比伦王的将领投降，这城必落在迦勒底人手里，被付之一炬，你也逃不掉。’”

犹大王约雅斤被掳后第三十七年，即巴比伦王以未·米罗达元年十二月二十五日，巴比伦王恩待约雅斤，释放了他，

耶和华说：“犹大王约雅敬的儿子哥尼雅啊，我凭我的永恒起誓，即使你是我右手上盖章的戒指，我也要把你摘下来，交给那些想杀你的人，交给你所惧怕的人，就是巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒和他的迦勒底军队。我要把你和你母亲赶到异乡，那里不是你们的出生之地，却是葬身之处。你们渴望回到故乡，却不能如愿以偿。”难道哥尼雅是个被人鄙视、无人理睬的破瓶子吗？为什么他和他的子孙被赶到陌生之地？大地啊，大地啊，大地啊，要听耶和华的话！耶和华说：“你要把这人作为无儿无女、一生失败的人记录下来，因为他的后裔中无一人能成功地继承大卫的宝座，统治犹大。”
