The king ordered Hilkiah the high priest, the priests next in rank and the doorkeepers to remove from the temple of the Lord all the articles made for Baal and Asherah and all the starry hosts. He burned them outside Jerusalem in the fields of the Kidron Valley and took the ashes to Bethel.

Certain things in the Lord’ s temple had been made to honor other gods. They were the god named Baal, the female god named Asherah and all the stars in the sky. The king ordered Hilkiah the high priest to remove those things. The king ordered the priests who were next in rank and the men who guarded the doors to help Hilkiah. Josiah took those things that had been in the Lord’ s temple and burned them outside Jerusalem. He burned them in the fields in the Kidron Valley. And he took the ashes to Bethel.

And the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest and the priests of the second order and the keepers of the threshold to bring out of the temple of the Lord all the vessels made for Baal, for Asherah, and for all the host of heaven. He burned them outside Jerusalem in the fields of the Kidron and carried their ashes to Bethel.

Then the king instructed Hilkiah the high priest and the priests of the second rank and the Temple gatekeepers to remove from the Lord’s Temple all the articles that were used to worship Baal, Asherah, and all the powers of the heavens. The king had all these things burned outside Jerusalem on the terraces of the Kidron Valley, and he carried the ashes away to Bethel.

Then the king commanded the high priest Hilkiah and the priests of the second rank and the doorkeepers to bring out of the LORD’s sanctuary all the articles made for Baal, Asherah, and all the stars in the sky. He burned them outside Jerusalem in the fields of the Kidron and carried their ashes to Bethel.

Then the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, the priests of the second order, and the doorkeepers to bring out of the temple of the Lord all the utensils that had been made for Baal, for Asherah, and for all the heavenly lights; and he burned them outside Jerusalem in the fields of the Kidron Valley, and carried their ashes to Bethel.

And the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, and the priests of the second order, and the keepers of the door, to bring forth out of the temple of the LORD all the vessels that were made for Baal, and for the grove, and for all the host of heaven: and he burned them without Jerusalem in the fields of Kidron, and carried the ashes of them unto Bethel.

The king ordered Hilkiah the high priest, the high-ranking priests, and the guards to bring out of the LORD’s temple all the items that were used in the worship of Baal, Asherah, and all the stars of the sky. The king burned them outside of Jerusalem in the terraces of Kidron, and carried their ashes to Bethel.

The king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, and the priests of the second order, and the keepers of the threshold, to bring out of Yahweh’s temple all the vessels that were made for Baal, for the Asherah, and for all the army of the sky, and he burned them outside of Jerusalem in the fields of the Kidron, and carried their ashes to Bethel.

現在你要派人去召集以色列眾人，以及耶洗別所供養的四百五十個巴力的先知和四百個亞舍拉的先知，叫他們都上迦密山到我這裏來。」

那時，祭司長和百姓的長老聚集在那稱為該亞法的大祭司的院裏。

耶穌說了這些話，就同門徒出去，過了汲淪溪。在那裏有一個園子，他和門徒進去了。

你們豈可偷盜，殺害，姦淫，起假誓，向巴力燒香，隨從素不認識的別神，

此外，在伯特利丘壇的壇，就是尼八的兒子耶羅波安所築、使以色列人陷入罪裏的，他也把這壇和丘壇都拆毀了，又焚燒丘壇，打碎成灰，並焚燒了亞舍拉。

門口守衛的班次如下：可拉族以比雅撒的子孫中，有可利的兒子米施利米雅。米施利米雅的長子是撒迦利亞，次子是耶疊，三子是西巴第雅，四子是耶提聶，五子是以攔，六子是約哈難，七子是以利約乃。俄別‧以東的長子是示瑪雅，次子是約薩拔，三子是約亞，四子是沙甲，五子是拿坦業，六子是亞米利，七子是以薩迦，八子是毗烏利太，因為上帝賜福給俄別‧以東。他的兒子示瑪雅生了幾個兒子，都是大能的勇士，管理父親的家。示瑪雅的兒子是俄得尼、利法益、俄備得、以利薩巴。以利薩巴的兄弟以利戶和西瑪迦是能人。這些都是俄別‧以東的子孫，他們和他們的兒子，以及兄弟，都是善於辦事的能人。屬俄別‧以東的共六十二人。米施利米雅的兒子和兄弟都是能人，共十八人。米拉利子孫中的何薩有幾個兒子：為首的是申利；他原不是長子，是他父親立他為首的，次子是希勒家，三子是底巴利雅，四子是撒迦利亞。何薩的兒子和兄弟共十三人。這些是門口守衛的班次，各隨他們的班長，與他們的兄弟一同在耶和華殿裏按班供職。他們無論大小，都按着父系抽籤，分守各門。抽到東門的是示利米雅；他的兒子撒迦利亞是精明的謀士，抽到北門。俄別‧以東守南門，他的兒子守倉庫。書聘與何薩守西門，在靠近沙利基門、通往上去的街道上，守衛與守衛相對。東門有六個利未人，北門每日有四人，南門每日有四人，庫房有兩人輪流替換。至於走廊，在西面街道上有四人，在走廊上有兩人。以上是可拉子孫和米拉利子孫門口守衛的班次。

到了早晨，眾祭司長和百姓的長老商議要處死耶穌，

發現以利亞撒子孫中作領袖的，比以他瑪子孫中作領袖的更多，就分班如下：以利亞撒的子孫中有十六個族長，以他瑪的子孫中有八個族長。他們抽籤分配，彼此一樣。在聖所和上帝面前作領袖的有以利亞撒的子孫，也有以他瑪的子孫。作書記的利未人拿坦業的兒子示瑪雅在王和領袖，與撒督祭司、亞比亞他的兒子亞希米勒，以及祭司和利未人的族長面前記錄他們的名字；在以利亞撒的子孫中取一族，在以他瑪的子孫中也取一族。抽籤的時候，第一籤抽到的是耶何雅立，第二是耶大雅，第三是哈琳，第四是梭琳，第五是瑪基雅，第六是米雅民，第七是哈歌斯，第八是亞比雅，第九是耶書亞，第十是示迦尼，第十一是以利亞實，第十二是雅金，第十三是胡巴，第十四是耶是比押，第十五是璧迦，第十六是音麥，第十七是希悉，第十八是哈闢悉，第十九是毗他希雅，第二十是以西結，第二十一是雅斤，第二十二是迦末，第二十三是第來雅，第二十四是瑪西亞。這就是他們事奉的班次，要照耶和華－以色列的上帝藉他們祖宗亞倫所吩咐的條例，進入耶和華的殿辦理事務。
