Furthermore, Josiah got rid of the mediums and spiritists, the household gods, the idols and all the other detestable things seen in Judah and Jerusalem. This he did to fulfill the requirements of the law written in the book that Hilkiah the priest had discovered in the temple of the Lord.

And that’s not all. Josiah got rid of those who got messages from people who had died. He got rid of those who talked to the spirits of people who had died. He got rid of the statues of family gods and the statues of other gods. He got rid of everything else the Lord hates that was in Judah and Jerusalem. He did it to carry out what the law required. That law was written in the book that Hilkiah the priest had found in the Lord’ s temple.

Moreover, Josiah put away the mediums and the necromancers and the household gods and the idols and all the abominations that were seen in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem, that he might establish the words of the law that were written in the book that Hilkiah the priest found in the house of the Lord.

Josiah also got rid of the mediums and psychics, the household gods, the idols, and every other kind of detestable practice, both in Jerusalem and throughout the land of Judah. He did this in obedience to the laws written in the scroll that Hilkiah the priest had found in the Lord’s Temple.

In addition, Josiah eradicated the mediums, the spiritists, household idols, images, and all the abhorrent things that were seen in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem. He did this in order to carry out the words of the law that were written in the book that the priest Hilkiah found in the LORD’s temple.

Moreover Josiah removed those who had familiar spirits, the wizards, and the teraphim, and the idols, and all the abominations that were seen in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem, that he might confirm the words of the law which were written in the book that Hilkiah the priest found in Yahweh’s house.

“不可偏向那些交鬼的和行巫术的；不可求问他们，以致被他们玷污了。我是耶和华你们的神。

并使他的儿子经火，又观兆，用法术，立交鬼的和行巫术的，多行耶和华眼中看为恶的事，惹动他的怒气；

重新建筑他父希西家所毁坏的邱坛，又为巴力筑坛，做亚舍拉像，效法以色列王亚哈所行的，且敬拜侍奉天上的万象；

城外有那些犬类、行邪术的、淫乱的、杀人的、拜偶像的，并一切喜好说谎言、编造虚谎的。

惟有详细察看那全备、使人自由之律法的，并且时常如此，这人既不是听了就忘，乃是实在行出来，就在他所行的事上必然得福。

这米迦有了神堂，又制造以弗得和家中的神像，分派他一个儿子作祭司。

以色列人也必多日独居，无君王，无首领，无祭祀，无柱像，无以弗得，无家中的神像。

行他父亲一切所行的，敬奉他父亲所敬奉的偶像，

大祭司希勒家对书记沙番说：“我在耶和华殿里得了律法书。”希勒家将书递给沙番，沙番就看了。书记沙番到王那里，回复王说：“你的仆人已将殿里的银子倒出数算，交给耶和华殿里办事的人了。”书记沙番又对王说：“祭司希勒家递给我一卷书。”沙番就在王面前读那书。王听见律法书上的话，便撕裂衣服，吩咐祭司希勒家与沙番的儿子亚希甘、米该亚的儿子亚革波、书记沙番和王的臣仆亚撒雅，说：“你们去为我、为民、为犹大众人，以这书上的话求问耶和华；因为我们列祖没有听从这书上的言语，没有遵着书上所吩咐我们的去行，耶和华就向我们大发烈怒。”

埃及人的心神必在里面耗尽；我必败坏他们的谋略。他们必求问偶像和念咒的、交鬼的、行巫术的。

那时撒母耳已经死了，以色列众人为他哀哭，葬他在拉玛，就是在他本城里。扫罗曾在国内不容有交鬼的和行巫术的人。非利士人聚集，来到书念安营；扫罗聚集以色列众人在基利波安营。扫罗看见非利士的军旅就惧怕，心中发颤。扫罗求问耶和华，耶和华却不藉梦，或乌陵，或先知回答他。扫罗吩咐臣仆说：“当为我找一个交鬼的妇人，我好去问她。”臣仆说：“在隐多珥有一个交鬼的妇人。”

他们将奉到耶和华殿的银子运出来的时候，祭司希勒家偶然得了摩西所传耶和华的律法书。希勒家对书记沙番说：“我在耶和华殿里得了律法书。”遂将书递给沙番。沙番把书拿到王那里，回复王说：“凡交给仆人们办的都办理了。耶和华殿里的银子倒出来，交给督工的和匠人的手里了。”书记沙番又对王说：“祭司希勒家递给我一卷书。”沙番就在王面前读那书。王听见律法上的话，就撕裂衣服，

“因犹大王玛拿西行这些可憎的恶事比先前亚摩利人所行的更甚，使犹大人拜他的偶像，陷在罪里；

所以凡有血气的，没有一个因行律法能在神面前称义，因为律法本是叫人知罪。

后来，我们往那祷告的地方去。有一个使女迎着面来，她被巫鬼所附，用法术，叫她主人们大得财利。她跟随保罗和我们，喊着说：“这些人是至高神的仆人，对你们传说救人的道。”她一连多日这样喊叫，保罗就心中厌烦，转身对那鬼说：“我奉耶稣基督的名，吩咐你从她身上出来！”那鬼当时就出来了。
