Furthermore, Josiah got rid of the mediums and spiritists, the household gods, the idols and all the other detestable things seen in Judah and Jerusalem. This he did to fulfill the requirements of the law written in the book that Hilkiah the priest had discovered in the temple of the Lord.

And that’s not all. Josiah got rid of those who got messages from people who had died. He got rid of those who talked to the spirits of people who had died. He got rid of the statues of family gods and the statues of other gods. He got rid of everything else the Lord hates that was in Judah and Jerusalem. He did it to carry out what the law required. That law was written in the book that Hilkiah the priest had found in the Lord’ s temple.

Moreover, Josiah put away the mediums and the necromancers and the household gods and the idols and all the abominations that were seen in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem, that he might establish the words of the law that were written in the book that Hilkiah the priest found in the house of the Lord.

Josiah also got rid of the mediums and psychics, the household gods, the idols, and every other kind of detestable practice, both in Jerusalem and throughout the land of Judah. He did this in obedience to the laws written in the scroll that Hilkiah the priest had found in the Lord’s Temple.

In addition, Josiah eradicated the mediums, the spiritists, household idols, images, and all the abhorrent things that were seen in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem. He did this in order to carry out the words of the law that were written in the book that the priest Hilkiah found in the LORD’s temple.

In this way he carried out the terms of the law recorded on the scroll that Hilkiah the priest had discovered in the LORD’s temple.

Moreover Josiah removed those who had familiar spirits, the wizards, and the teraphim, and the idols, and all the abominations that were seen in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem, that he might confirm the words of the law which were written in the book that Hilkiah the priest found in Yahweh’s house.

不可求問靈媒或巫師，玷污自己。我是你們的上帝耶和華。

你們當中不可有人焚燒自己的子女作祭物，不可有人占卜、算命、作法、行邪術、念咒、做靈媒、行巫術或求問亡靈。凡做這些事的人都是耶和華所憎惡的。正是因為當地的民族做這些可憎之事，你們的上帝耶和華才要當著你們的面把他們趕走。

當時祭司也和那六百個全副武裝的人站在門口。那五個人進去拿走了雕刻的偶像、以弗得、家庭神像及金屬鑄像。祭司見那五人進入米迦家拿走雕刻的偶像、以弗得、家庭神像及金屬鑄像，就問他們：「你們在做什麽？」

有人讓你們去求問那些念念有詞的巫師和術士，你們不要去。你們要去求問你們的上帝，活人的事怎能求問死人呢？人應該遵循耶和華的訓誨和法度。人若不遵循祂的話，必看不到曙光。

他重建他父親希西迦拆毀的邱壇，效法以色列王亞哈為巴力築造祭壇，製造亞舍拉神像，並且祭拜和供奉天上的萬象。

那些如同惡犬的敗類、行邪術的、淫亂的、殺人的、拜偶像的和一切喜歡弄虛作假的，都要被拒之城外。

但詳細查考那使人得自由的全備律法並且持之以恆的人，不是聽了就忘，而是身體力行，這樣的人必在他所行的事上蒙福。

米迦有一個神廟，他製造了一件以弗得和一些家庭神像，並指派他的一個兒子做祭司。

以色列人也要有許多日子沒有君王和首領，沒有祭祀和神柱，也沒有以弗得和家庭神像。

大祭司希勒迦告訴書記沙番說：「我在耶和華的殿裡找到了律法書。」希勒迦把書交給沙番看。沙番稟告王說：「你的臣僕已經把殿裡的銀子清點完畢，交給了殿裡的督工和工人。」他又告訴王：「希勒迦祭司給了我一卷書。」沙番就在王面前誦讀這書。王聽了律法書上的話，就撕裂衣服，吩咐希勒迦祭司、沙番的兒子亞希甘、米該亞的兒子亞革波、書記沙番和王的臣僕亞撒雅：「你們為我、為民眾和整個猶大去求問耶和華有關這書卷上的話。耶和華的烈怒已經臨到我們身上，因為我們的祖先沒有遵守這書卷上的話，沒有遵行這書卷上的吩咐。」

埃及人必灰心喪志，我必破壞他們的計謀。他們必求問偶像、巫師、靈媒和術士。

「瑪拿西王做的這些可憎之事，比以前住在這裡的亞摩利人更嚴重，使猶大人祭拜偶像，陷入罪中。

因為無人能夠靠遵行律法而被上帝視為義人，律法的本意是要使人知罪。

一天，我們又去河邊那個禱告的地方，途中遇到一個被巫鬼附身的女奴。她用占卜為她的主人們賺了不少錢。她跟著保羅和我們大喊大叫：「這些人是至高上帝的奴僕，是來向你們宣講得救之道的。」一連幾天，她都這樣喊叫。保羅不勝其煩，就轉過身來斥責那鬼：「我奉耶穌基督的名命令你從她身上出來！」那鬼立刻從她身上出去了。
