Just as he had done at Bethel, Josiah removed all the shrines at the high places that the kings of Israel had built in the towns of Samaria and that had aroused the Lord’s anger.

Josiah did in the rest of the northern kingdom the same things he had done at Bethel. He removed all the small temples at the high places. He made them“ unclean.” The kings of Israel had built them in the towns of the northern kingdom. The people in those towns had made the Lord very angry.

And Josiah removed all the shrines also of the high places that were in the cities of Samaria, which kings of Israel had made, provoking the Lord to anger. He did to them according to all that he had done at Bethel.

Then Josiah demolished all the buildings at the pagan shrines in the towns of Samaria, just as he had done at Bethel. They had been built by the various kings of Israel and had made the Lord very angry.

Josiah also removed all the shrines of the high places that were in the cities of Samaria, which the kings of Israel had made to anger the LORD. Josiah did the same things to them that he had done at Bethel.

Then Josiah also removed all the houses of the high places which were in the cities of Samaria, which the kings of Israel had constructed, provoking the Lord to anger; and he did to them just as he had done in Bethel.

Now Josiah also took away all the shrines of the high places that were in the cities of Samaria, which the kings of Israel had made to provoke the Lord to anger; and he did to them according to all the deeds he had done in Bethel.

And all the houses also of the high places that were in the cities of Samaria, which the kings of Israel had made to provoke Jehovah to anger, Josiah took away, and did to them according to all the acts that he had done in Beth- el.

他又在瑪拿西、以法蓮、西緬、拿弗他利各城和四圍的廢墟，拆毀祭壇，把亞舍拉和雕刻的像打碎成灰，砍斷以色列全地所有的香壇。於是他回耶路撒冷去了。

因為他遵照耶和華的話，指着伯特利的壇和撒瑪利亞各城丘壇神殿所宣告的話必定應驗。」

這一切事都完畢以後，在那裏的以色列眾人就到猶大的城鎮，打碎柱像，砍斷亞舍拉，又在猶大、便雅憫、以法蓮、瑪拿西遍地把丘壇和祭壇完全拆毀。於是以色列眾人各回各城，各歸自己產業的地去了。

他行以色列諸王的道，正如亞哈家所行的，因他娶了亞哈的女兒為妻，行耶和華眼中看為惡的事。

因為你遵守暗利的規條，行亞哈家一切所行的，順從他們的計謀；因此，我必使你荒涼，使你的居民遭人嗤笑，你們也必擔當我百姓的羞辱。

並使他的兒子經火，又觀星象，行法術，求問招魂的和行巫術的，多行耶和華眼中看為惡的事，惹他發怒。

他對我說：「人子啊，你看見了嗎？猶大家在這裏行可憎的事還算為小嗎？他們遍地行殘暴，再三惹我發怒。看哪，他們手拿枝條舉向鼻前！因此，我也要以憤怒行事。我的眼必不顧惜，也不可憐他們；他們雖在我耳邊大聲呼求，我還是不聽。」

亞哈又造亞舍拉，他所做的惹耶和華－以色列的上帝發怒，比他以前所有的以色列王更嚴重。

信差遵着王命，拿着王和眾領袖所發的信，送達全以色列和猶大，說：「以色列人哪，當轉向耶和華－亞伯拉罕、以撒、以色列的上帝，好叫他轉向你們這些脫離亞述諸王之手的餘民。不要效法你們的祖先和你們的弟兄；他們干犯耶和華－他們列祖的上帝，以致耶和華使他們令人驚駭，正如你們所見的。現在，不要像你們祖先硬着頸項，只要歸順耶和華，進入他的聖所，就是永遠成聖的居所，又要事奉耶和華－你們的上帝，好使他的烈怒轉離你們。你們若轉向耶和華，你們的弟兄和兒女必在擄掠他們的人面前蒙憐憫，得以歸回這地，因為耶和華－你們的上帝有恩惠，有憐憫。你們若轉向他，他必不會轉臉不顧你們。」信差從這城跑到那城，傳遍了以法蓮和瑪拿西之地，直到西布倫；那裏的人卻戲笑他們，譏誚他們。然而亞設、瑪拿西、西布倫中也有人謙卑自己，來到耶路撒冷。

孩子撿柴，父親燒火，婦女揉麵做餅，獻給天后，又向別神獻澆酒祭，惹我發怒。他們豈是惹我發怒呢？不是自己惹禍，以致臉上慚愧嗎？這是耶和華說的。」

耶羅波安在一些丘壇建神殿，立不屬利未人的平民百姓為祭司。

以丘壇惹他發怒，以雕刻的偶像使他忌恨。

以色列人暗中行不正的事，違背耶和華－他們的上帝，在他們所有的城鎮，從瞭望樓直到堅固城，建築丘壇；

他們離棄耶和華－他們上帝的一切誡命，為自己鑄造了兩個牛犢的像，立了亞舍拉，敬拜天上的萬象，事奉巴力，使他們的兒女經火，占卜，行法術，出賣自己，行耶和華眼中看為惡的事，惹他發怒。所以耶和華向以色列大大發怒，從自己面前趕出他們，只剩下猶大一個支派。
