Just as he had done at Bethel, Josiah removed all the shrines at the high places that the kings of Israel had built in the towns of Samaria and that had aroused the Lord’s anger.

Josiah did in the rest of the northern kingdom the same things he had done at Bethel. He removed all the small temples at the high places. He made them“ unclean.” The kings of Israel had built them in the towns of the northern kingdom. The people in those towns had made the Lord very angry.

And Josiah removed all the shrines also of the high places that were in the cities of Samaria, which kings of Israel had made, provoking the Lord to anger. He did to them according to all that he had done at Bethel.

Then Josiah demolished all the buildings at the pagan shrines in the towns of Samaria, just as he had done at Bethel. They had been built by the various kings of Israel and had made the Lord very angry.

Josiah also removed all the shrines of the high places that were in the cities of Samaria, which the kings of Israel had made to anger the LORD. Josiah did the same things to them that he had done at Bethel.

Then Josiah also removed all the houses of the high places which were in the cities of Samaria, which the kings of Israel had constructed, provoking the Lord to anger; and he did to them just as he had done in Bethel.

又在瑪拿西、以法蓮、西緬、拿弗他利各城，和四圍破壞之處，都這樣行；又拆毀祭壇，把木偶和雕刻的像打碎成灰，砍斷以色列遍地所有的日像，就回耶路撒冷去了。

因為他奉耶和華的命指着伯特利的壇和撒馬利亞各城有邱壇之殿所說的話必定應驗。」

這事既都完畢，在那裏的以色列眾人就到猶大的城邑，打碎柱像，砍斷木偶，又在猶大、便雅憫、以法蓮、瑪拿西遍地將邱壇和祭壇拆毀淨盡。於是以色列眾人各回各城，各歸各地。

他行以色列諸王所行的，與亞哈家一樣；因為他娶了亞哈的女兒為妻，行耶和華眼中看為惡的事。

因為你守暗利的惡規，行亞哈家一切所行的，順從他們的計謀；因此，我必使你荒涼，使你的居民令人嗤笑，你們也必擔當我民的羞辱。

並使他的兒子經火，又觀兆，用法術，立交鬼的和行巫術的，多行耶和華眼中看為惡的事，惹動他的怒氣；

他對我說：「人子啊，你看見了嗎？猶大家在此行這可憎的事還算為小嗎？他們在這地遍行強暴，再三惹我發怒，他們手拿枝條舉向鼻前。因此，我也要以忿怒行事，我眼必不顧惜，也不可憐他們；他們雖向我耳中大聲呼求，我還是不聽。」

亞哈又做亞舍拉，他所行的惹耶和華－以色列神的怒氣，比他以前的以色列諸王更甚。

驛卒就把王和眾首領的信，遵着王命傳遍以色列和猶大。信內說：「以色列人哪，你們當轉向耶和華－亞伯拉罕、以撒、以色列的神，好叫他轉向你們這脫離亞述王手的餘民。你們不要效法你們列祖和你們的弟兄；他們干犯耶和華－他們列祖的神，以致耶和華丟棄他們，使他們敗亡，正如你們所見的。現在不要像你們列祖硬着頸項，只要歸順耶和華，進入他的聖所，就是永遠成聖的居所；又要事奉耶和華－你們的神，好使他的烈怒轉離你們。你們若轉向耶和華，你們的弟兄和兒女必在擄掠他們的人面前蒙憐恤，得以歸回這地，因為耶和華－你們的神有恩典、施憐憫。你們若轉向他，他必不轉臉不顧你們。」驛卒就由這城跑到那城，傳遍了以法蓮、瑪拿西，直到西布倫。那裏的人卻戲笑他們，譏誚他們。然而亞設、瑪拿西、西布倫中也有人自卑，來到耶路撒冷。

孩子撿柴，父親燒火，婦女摶麵做餅，獻給天后，又向別神澆奠祭，惹我發怒。」耶和華說：「他們豈是惹我發怒呢？不是自己惹禍，以致臉上慚愧嗎？」

耶羅波安在邱壇那裏建殿，將那不屬利未人的凡民立為祭司。

因他們的邱壇惹了他的怒氣；因他們雕刻的偶像觸動他的憤恨。

以色列人暗中行不正的事，違背耶和華－他們的神，在他們所有的城邑，從瞭望樓直到堅固城，建築邱壇；

離棄耶和華－他們神的一切誡命，為自己鑄了兩個牛犢的像，立了亞舍拉，敬拜天上的萬象，事奉巴力，又使他們的兒女經火，用占卜，行法術賣了自己，行耶和華眼中看為惡的事，惹動他的怒氣。所以耶和華向以色列人大大發怒，從自己面前趕出他們，只剩下猶大一個支派。
