Because your heart was responsive and you humbled yourself before the Lord when you heard what I have spoken against this place and its people— that they would become a curse and be laid waste— and because you tore your robes and wept in my presence, I also have heard you, declares the Lord.

I told them they would be destroyed. You tore your royal robes and wept in front of me. And I have heard you,” announces the Lord.

那至高至上、永远长存的圣者说：“我住在至高至圣之处，但我也跟痛悔、谦卑的人同住，使他们心灵振作。

你们的可憎恶行令耶和华忍无可忍，以致祂使你们的土地一片荒凉，无人居住，被人咒诅，正如今天的情形。

摩西和亚伦便进宫去见法老，对他说：“希伯来人的上帝耶和华说，‘你要到什么时候才肯在我面前谦卑下来，让我的子民离开这里去事奉我？

我要使你们的城邑沦为废墟，使你们的敬拜场所荒凉，也不再悦纳你们的馨香之祭。我要使你们的土地荒废，连占据那里的敌人也为此而震惊。

事后，大卫心里不安，

世人啊，耶和华已经指示你们何为良善。祂向你们所要的是什么呢？是要你们行公义，好怜悯，谦卑地与你们的上帝同行。

你们年轻的要顺服年长的，大家都要存谦卑的心彼此服侍。因为上帝阻挡骄傲的人，恩待谦卑的人。所以你们要在上帝大能的手下谦卑，时候到了，祂必擢升你们。

他的祷告，上帝的答复，他在谦卑下来之前的罪恶和不忠，他在哪里修筑丘坛以及设立亚舍拉神像和其他偶像的事，都记在《先知书》上。

真希望我的头是水泉，眼是泪泉，好为我被杀的同胞昼夜哭泣；

“回去告诉我子民的首领希西迦，‘你祖先大卫的上帝耶和华说，我已听见你的祷告，看见了你的眼泪。我要医治你，三天后你就可以上耶和华的殿。

还是你藐视祂深厚的慈爱、宽容和忍耐，不知道祂的慈爱是要引导你悔改吗？你这样硬着心不肯悔改等于是为自己积蓄烈怒，上帝的烈怒在祂施行公义审判的那天必临到你。

但上帝赐给我们更大的恩典，所以圣经上说：“上帝阻挡骄傲的人，恩待谦卑的人。”因此，你们要服从上帝，抵挡魔鬼，魔鬼必逃离你们。你们亲近上帝，上帝就必亲近你们。有罪的人啊，洗净你们的手吧！三心二意的人啊，洁净你们的心吧！你们要悲伤、忧愁、痛哭，转欢笑为悲哀，变欢乐为愁苦。你们要在主面前谦卑，祂必擢升你们。

论到犹大王约雅敬，你要这样写，‘耶和华说，你把卷轴烧掉，还说为什么上面写着巴比伦王必来毁灭这地方和其中的人畜。所以耶和华说，犹大王约雅敬啊，你的子孙没有一人能登大卫的宝座，你的尸体必被弃之荒野，遭受烈日的暴晒和夜霜的侵袭。我要因你、你后裔和你臣仆的罪恶而惩罚你们。因为你们不听我的警告，我要给你们以及耶路撒冷和犹大的居民降下我说过的灾祸。’”于是，耶利米又拿了一个卷轴，交给尼利亚的儿子书记巴录，他按耶利米的口述，把犹大王约雅敬烧毁的那卷轴上的话都记下来，还增添了许多类似的话。

我一听见这消息，就坐下痛哭，悲伤了好几天。我在天上的上帝面前禁食祷告，说：

在困苦中，玛拿西祈求他的上帝耶和华的帮助，并且在他祖先的上帝面前极其谦卑。

亚摩斯的儿子以赛亚派人告诉希西迦：“以色列的上帝耶和华说，‘我已经听见你关于亚述王西拿基立的祷告。

耶稣快到耶路撒冷时，看见那城就哀哭，

我心里极为忧愁，痛苦不止！为了我的弟兄——我的同胞以色列人，即使我自己被咒诅、与基督隔绝，我也愿意！

对他说：“你去走遍耶路撒冷，在那些因城中可憎之事而叹息哀伤的人额上画个记号。”

摩西和以色列全体会众正在会幕门口痛哭的时候，有个以色列人当着他们的面把一个米甸女子带进自家的帐篷。

以斯拉祷告、认罪、哭泣、俯伏在上帝的殿前时，一大群以色列人，包括男女和孩子，都聚集到他那里，与他一起痛哭。

我泪流成河，因为人们不遵行你的律法。

我因敬畏你而战抖，我惧怕你的法令。

以色列人听了耶和华的天使说的话，就放声大哭，他们称那地方为波金，在那里向耶和华献祭。

“耶利米，你要对他们说，‘让我昼夜泪眼汪汪吧，因为我的同胞遭受重创，遍体鳞伤。

一切都是我亲手创造的。这是耶和华说的。我看顾谦卑、悔过、对我的话心存敬畏的人。

王听了律法书上的话，就撕裂衣服，

以色列全军来到伯特利，坐在耶和华面前哀哭，那天他们一直禁食到晚上，又在耶和华面前献上燔祭和平安祭。

如果你们因为骄傲而不肯听，我会暗自哭泣、泪流满面，因为耶和华的子民将要被掳。

一听到这些，我便撕裂衣服和外袍，拔掉头发和胡须，惊惧地坐下。听了以色列上帝的话而战抖的人都聚集在我周围，因为流亡归来的人不忠。我惊惧地坐在那里，直到献晚祭的时候。

对耶和华的话心存敬畏的人啊，要听祂的话：“你们的弟兄憎恨你们，因为我的缘故而弃绝你们，他们讥讽说，‘愿耶和华得荣耀，我们好看看你们的欢乐！’他们必受羞辱。

你们这些冥顽不灵、远离公义的人啊，听我说。

遍地将是硫磺和盐，无法耕种，寸草不生，如同耶和华盛怒之下毁灭的所多玛、蛾摩拉、押玛和洗扁。

全体民众听到律法书上的话都哭了。尼希米省长、律法教师以斯拉祭司和教导民众的利未人对他们说：“今天是你们上帝耶和华的圣日，不要悲哀、哭泣。”

“如果他们承认自己和祖先的罪，就是背叛我、与我作对的恶行——以致我与他们作对，把他们流放到敌国；如果他们顽固的心谦卑下来，甘愿接受刑罚，

可是，亚们没有像他父亲玛拿西一样在耶和华面前谦卑下来。相反，他犯的罪日益增加。
