因猶大人違棄我、焚香於他神、他神或作異邦之神以其所為、干犯我怒、故我向此處震怒、如烈火不熄、

Because they have forsaken me and burned incense to other gods and aroused my anger by all the idols their hands have made, my anger will burn against this place and will not be quenched.’

That’s because the people have deserted me. They have burned incense to other gods. They have made me very angry because of the statues of gods their hands have made. So my anger will burn like a fire against this place. And the fire of my anger will not be put out.’ ” ’

罪人在锡安惧怕，不敬虔的人被战兢抓住，说：“我们中间谁能与吞噬之火同住？我们中间谁能与不灭之焰共居？”

反而与列国混合，学习他们的行为，服事他们的偶像。这就成为自己的陷阱。他们把自己的儿子和女儿祭献给鬼魔；他们流无辜人的血，就是自己儿子和女儿的血，把他们祭献给迦南的偶像，那地就被血玷污了。那时他们因自己所做的被玷污，在自己的行为上犯了奸淫。于是耶和华的怒气向他的子民发作；他厌恶自己的继业，把他们交在列国的手中，恨他们的人就管辖他们。他们的仇敌压迫他们，他们就屈服在仇敌手下。

“你们把我比作谁，使我与谁等同呢？你们把我与谁相比，我与谁就同等了吗？那些不惜从钱袋里倒出金子，用天平称出银子的人，雇用金匠造出神像，然后俯伏下拜。他们把神像抬起，扛在肩上，又把它安置就位；它就在那里呆立不动。尽管人向它呼求，它也不回应，更不能救人脱离患难。“你们这些叛逆的人哪，当记念这事，心志坚定，留心反思！

阻止我们向外邦人传道使外邦人得救。这样，他们常常积满自己的罪孽，而神的震怒在最后临到了他们身上！

他用剩下的一半做了一个神像，就是他雕刻的偶像，然后向它俯伏下拜，又向它祷告，说：“求你救我，因为你是我的神。”这样的人不明白，也不领悟，因为耶和华蒙蔽他们的眼使他们不能看见，蒙蔽他们的心使他们不能明悟。他们不反思，也没有知识和聪慧来说：“我用一半的木头烧火，又在火炭上烘饼，烤肉吃。我怎么能用剩下的木头制造可憎之物呢？我怎么能向一块木头膜拜呢？”他们追求的只是灰烬；他们的心受了迷惑，使他们偏离正道；他们不能救自己，也不会说：“我右手中的，难道不是虚谎之物吗？”

他们的地充斥着偶像，他们向自己手所造的，向自己指头所做的下拜。这样，人人降卑，个个卑贱。耶和华啊，求你不要饶恕他们！

列国的偶像是银的、金的，是人手所做的：它们有嘴却不能说，有眼却不能看；有耳却不能听，有鼻却不能闻；有手却不能摸，有脚却不能走，也不能用喉咙发出声音。那些造它们的、所有依靠它们的，都会像它们那样。
