又奏王曰、祭司希勒家授我一書、遂讀於王前、

又曰、祭司希勒家以書予我。遂取書陳王、誦於王前。

Then Shaphan the secretary informed the king,“ Hilkiah the priest has given me a book.” And Shaphan read from it in the presence of the king.

Shaphan continued,“ Hilkiah the priest has given me a book.” Shaphan read some of it to the king.

Shaphan also told the king,“ Hilkiah the priest has given me a scroll.” So Shaphan read it to the king.

Then the court secretary Shaphan told the king,“ The priest Hilkiah has given me a book,” and Shaphan read it in the presence of the king.

Moreover, Shaphan the scribe informed the king, saying,“ Hilkiah the priest has given me a book.” And Shaphan read it in the presence of the king.

Then Shaphan the scribe showed the king, saying,“ Hilkiah the priest has given me a book.” And Shaphan read it before the king.

And Shaphan the scribe told the king, saying, Hilkiah the priest hath delivered me a book. And Shaphan read it before the king.

Then Shaphan the court secretary told the king,“ Hilkiah the priest has given me a book,” and Shaphan read it in the presence of the king.

And Shaphan the scribe shewed the king, saying, Hilkiah the priest hath delivered me a book. And Shaphan read it before the king.

Then Shaphan the scribe told the king,“ Hilkiah the priest has given me a scroll.” Shaphan read it out loud before the king.

Shaphan the scribe told the king, saying,“ Hilkiah the priest has delivered a book to me.” Then Shaphan read it before the king.

Then the king sent Jehudi to get the scroll, and he took it from the chamber of Elishama the secretary. And Jehudi read it to the king and all the officials who stood beside the king.

Say to the king and the queen mother:“ Take a lowly seat, for your beautiful crown has come down from your head.”

Thus says the Lord:“ Go down to the house of the king of Judah and speak there this word,and say,‘ Hear the word of the Lord, O king of Judah, who sits on the throne of David, you, and your servants, and your people who enter these gates.

Then Shaphan the secretary told the king,“ Hilkiah the priest has given me a book.” And Shaphan read from it before the king.

On that day they read from the Book of Moses in the hearing of the people. And in it was found written that no Ammonite or Moabite should ever enter the assembly of God,

And they said to him,“ Sit down and read it.” So Baruch read it to them.

Then Moses wrote this law and gave it to the priests, the sons of Levi, who carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and to all the elders of Israel.And Moses commanded them,“ At the end of every seven years, at the set time in the year of release, at the Feast of Booths,when all Israel comes to appear before the Lord your God at the place that he will choose, you shall read this law before all Israel in their hearing.Assemble the people, men, women, and little ones, and the sojourner within your towns, that they may hear and learn to fear the Lord your God, and be careful to do all the words of this law,and that their children, who have not known it, may hear and learn to fear the Lord your God, as long as you live in the land that you are going over the Jordan to possess.”

And they found it written in the Law that the Lord had commanded by Moses that the people of Israel should dwell in booths during the feast of the seventh month,and that they should proclaim it and publish it in all their towns and in Jerusalem,“ Go out to the hills and bring branches of olive, wild olive, myrtle, palm, and other leafy trees to make booths, as it is written.”

“ And when he sits on the throne of his kingdom, he shall write for himself in a book a copy of this law, approved by the Levitical priests.And it shall be with him, and he shall read in it all the days of his life, that he may learn to fear the Lord his God by keeping all the words of this law and these statutes, and doing them,that his heart may not be lifted up above his brothers, and that he may not turn aside from the commandment, either to the right hand or to the left, so that he may continue long in his kingdom, he and his children, in Israel.

And all the people gathered as one man into the square before the Water Gate. And they told Ezra the scribe to bring the Book of the Law of Moses that the Lord had commanded Israel.So Ezra the priest brought the Law before the assembly, both men and women and all who could understand what they heard, on the first day of the seventh month.And he read from it facing the square before the Water Gate from early morning until midday, in the presence of the men and the women and those who could understand. And the ears of all the people were attentive to the Book of the Law.And Ezra the scribe stood on a wooden platform that they had made for the purpose. And beside him stood Mattithiah, Shema, Anaiah, Uriah, Hilkiah, and Maaseiah on his right hand, and Pedaiah, Mishael, Malchijah, Hashum, Hashbaddanah, Zechariah, and Meshullam on his left hand.And Ezra opened the book in the sight of all the people, for he was above all the people, and as he opened it all the people stood.And Ezra blessed the Lord, the great God, and all the people answered,“ Amen, Amen,” lifting up their hands. And they bowed their heads and worshiped the Lord with their faces to the ground.Also Jeshua, Bani, Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodiah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, the Levites, helped the people to understand the Law, while the people remained in their places.

so you are to go, and on a day of fasting in the hearing of all the people in the Lord’s house you shall read the words of the Lord from the scroll that you have written at my dictation. You shall read them also in the hearing of all the men of Judah who come out of their cities.

And day by day, from the first day to the last day, he read from the Book of the Law of God. They kept the feast seven days, and on the eighth day there was a solemn assembly, according to the rule.
