But the people did not listen. Manasseh led them astray, so that they did more evil than the nations the Lord had destroyed before the Israelites.

所以人若知道善而不去行，就是犯罪。

“如今，我们的上帝啊，事已至此，我们还能说什么呢？因为我们背弃了你的诫命，就是你借着你的仆人——众先知给我们的吩咐，‘你们将要占领的那片土地被当地人的污秽玷污，他们的可憎行径使那里充满污秽。

“然而，他们不顺从你，背叛你，把你的律法抛在背后，又杀掉劝诫他们归向你的众先知，大大亵渎了你。

“耶路撒冷啊，耶路撒冷啊！你常杀害先知，又用石头打死派到你那里的使者。我多次想要招聚你的儿女，像母鸡将小鸡招聚在翅膀底下，可是你们却不肯。

众人若抑善扬恶，恶人必横行无忌。

你不仅追随她们可憎的行径，还很快超过了她们。

可是有一件事我要责备你，就是你容许那自称是先知的妇人耶洗别教导我的众奴仆，引诱他们淫乱、吃祭过偶像的食物。

他们却嘲弄耶和华上帝的使者，藐视祂的话，嘲笑祂的先知，以致祂的愤怒临到祂的子民身上，无可挽救。

你警告他们，要使他们遵守你的律法，但他们行事狂傲，不听从你的诫命，干犯你的典章。人若遵行这典章就必存活，但他们背弃你，顽固不化，不肯听从。你多年来容忍他们，差遣你的灵借着你的众先知警告他们，但他们依然不肯听从，于是你把他们交在列邦手中。

我如果没有来教导他们，他们就没有罪了，但现在他们的罪无可推诿。

撒玛利亚的罪还不及你的一半，你做的事比她们做的更可憎，以致与你相比，你的姊妹倒显得公义了。既然你帮了你的姊妹，使她们显得公义，你就蒙受羞辱吧！因为你犯的罪比你姊妹犯的罪更可憎，以致她们显得比你更公义。因此，你就自取其辱，抱愧蒙羞吧！

没有听从你的仆人——众先知奉你的名向我们的君王、首领、先祖及国中百姓所说的话。

我们没有听从我们的上帝耶和华的话，没有遵行祂借祂的仆人——众先知给我们颁布的律法。以色列人都违背你的律法，偏离正道，不听从你的话。你仆人摩西的律法书上所记载的咒诅和审判都落在了我们身上，因为我们得罪了你。

我是你们的上帝耶和华，曾把你们带出埃及。张开你们的口吧，我必使你们饱足。

以法莲因甘愿追随偶像而受欺压，被审判压碎。
