In those days Hezekiah became ill and was at the point of death. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz went to him and said,“ This is what the Lord says: Put your house in order, because you are going to die; you will not recover.”

In those days Hezekiah became very sick. He was about to die. Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, went to him. Isaiah told Hezekiah,“ The Lord says,‘ Put everything in order. Make out your will. You are going to die soon. You will not get well again.’ ”

In those days Hezekiah was sick and near death. And Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, went to him and said to him,“ Thus says the Lord:‘ set your house in order, for you shall die, and not live.’”

In those days Hezekiah was sick and dying. Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came to him, and said to him,“ Yahweh says,‘ Set your house in order; for you will die, and not live.’”

在那些日子，希西加患病快要死了。亚摩斯的儿子先知以赛亚来到他那里，对他说：“耶和华如此说：‘你要妥善安排你的家事，因为你快要死了，不能存活了。’”希西加就转脸对着墙，向耶和华祷告，说：“哦，耶和华啊，求你记念我在你面前怎样以诚实和完全的心行事，又做你眼中看为善的事！”然后，希西加就痛哭起来。那时，耶和华的话语临到以赛亚，说：“你去告诉希西加：‘你先祖大卫的神耶和华如此说：我听到了你的祷告，看见了你的眼泪。看哪！我必在你的寿数上增添十五年。我必解救你和这城脱离亚述王的手；我必保护这城。以下是我耶和华给你的征兆来证明我耶和华必成就所说的这事：看哪！我要使亚哈斯的日晷上太阳照下的影子向后退十个刻度。’”于是日晷上太阳照下的影子，果然向后退了十个刻度。犹大王希西加患病痊愈后，写了一首诗：“我曾说：我如日中天就要进入阴间之门；我余剩的岁月竟被剥夺！我曾说：我必不得见耶和华，必不得见在活人之地的耶和华！我再也不会见到世上居民中的任何人。我的住处好像牧人的帐篷，被拔出、挪走；我卷起我的性命，像织布的卷布那样；他把我从织布机上剪断，一日之间，他使我丧命。我不断呼救，直到清晨；他像狮子折断我所有的骨头，一日之间，他使我丧命。我像燕子呢喃，像白鹤啼叫，又像鸽子哀鸣。我的眼睛因仰望高处而衰弱；主啊！我受欺压，求你作我的保障。我还能说什么呢？他对我说过的，他已亲自做了。我因灵魂的苦痛，要谨慎地度过我所有的年日。主啊！人存活靠着这些；我灵魂的生命也在所有这些之中。求你使我复原，使我存活。看哪！我受尽苦痛，是对我有益的；是你在爱中保全我的灵魂脱离灭亡之坑，是你把我的一切罪都抛在你的背后。阴间不会称颂你，死亡不会赞美你，下阴坑的人也不会盼望你的信实；唯独活人——活着的人才会称颂你，像我今天这样；作父亲的才会使儿女认识你的信实。耶和华必拯救我；我们一生一世都要在耶和华的殿中，弹奏丝弦的乐器。”——而此前，以赛亚曾说：“拿一块无花果饼来，敷在疮上，王就必痊愈！”希西加却问：“有什么征兆来证明我会上耶和华的殿呢？”

事实上，他虽然患了病几乎死去，可是神怜悯了他；不仅怜悯他，也怜悯了我，免得我忧上加忧。

约拿开始进入那城，走了一天的路程，宣告说：“再过四十天，尼尼微就要覆灭了。”尼尼微人就相信神，并宣告禁食，无论尊贵的或卑微的，都披上麻布。这话语传到尼尼微王的时候，他从自己的宝座上起来，从身上脱下王袍，披上麻布，坐在灰烬中。然后他颁布谕令，说：“在尼尼微，王和大臣有令：‘无论人或牲畜，牛或羊，都不可尝什么，不可吃什么，也不可喝水。人和牲畜都当披上麻布；各人都当迫切地向神呼求，从自己邪恶的道路上、自己手里的残暴中转回。或许神会转回、施怜悯，从他猛烈的怒气中转回，使我们不致灭亡。’”神看到他们所行的——从邪恶的道路上转回了，神就施怜悯，没有降下原先所说的要降在他们身上的灾祸。

因为他为了基督的工作，几乎至死，冒了生命的危险，为要弥补你们服事我的缺乏。

有一个叫拉撒路的病人，住在伯大尼，就是玛丽亚和她的姐姐玛妲住的村子。这玛丽亚就是用香液膏抹主，又用自己的头发擦他脚的那一个。是她的弟弟拉撒路患了病。姐妹俩派人到耶稣那里说：“主啊，你看，你所爱的人患了病。”耶稣听了就说：“这病不至于死，而是为了神的荣耀，好使神的儿子由此得荣耀。”耶稣一向爱玛妲和她的妹妹，以及拉撒路。
