When they had crossed, Elijah said to Elisha,“ Tell me, what can I do for you before I am taken from you?”“ Let me inherit a double portion of your spirit,” Elisha replied.

After they had gone across, Elijah said to Elisha,“ Tell me. What can I do for you before I’m taken away from you?”“ Please give me a double share of your spirit,” Elisha replied.

When they had crossed, Elijah said to Elisha,“ Ask what I shall do for you, before I am taken from you.” And Elisha said,“ Please let there be a double portion of your spirit on me.”

When they came to the other side, Elijah said to Elisha,“ Tell me what I can do for you before I am taken away.” And Elisha replied,“ Please let me inherit a double share of your spirit and become your successor.”

When they had crossed over, Elijah said to Elisha,“ Tell me what I can do for you before I am taken from you.” So Elisha answered,“ Please, let me inherit two shares of your spirit.”

but he shall acknowledge the first- born, the son of the hated, by giving him a double portion of all that he hath; for he is the beginning of his strength; the right of the first- born is his.

And I will come down and talk with thee there: and I will take of the Spirit which is upon thee, and will put it upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, that thou bear it not thyself alone.

Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and in teaching.

And Jehovah came down in the cloud, and spake unto him, and took of the Spirit that was upon him, and put it upon the seventy elders: and it came to pass, that, when the Spirit rested upon them, they prophesied, but they did so no more.

And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom; for Moses had laid his hands upon him: and the children of Israel hearkened unto him, and did as Jehovah commanded Moses.

Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.

Give thy servant therefore an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and evil; for who is able to judge this thy great people?

Now, O Jehovah God, let thy promise unto David my father be established; for thou hast made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude.Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people; for who can judge this thy people, that is so great?

Turn you to the stronghold, ye prisoners of hope: even to- day do I declare that I will render double unto thee.

But desire earnestly the greater gifts. And moreover a most excellent way show I unto you.

And Elisha laid his hands upon the king’s hands.And he said, Open the window eastward; and he opened it. Then Elisha said, Shoot; and he shot. And he said, Jehovah’s arrow of victory, even the arrow of victory over Syria; for thou shalt smite the Syrians in Aphek, till thou have consumed them.And he said, Take the arrows; and he took them. And he said unto the king of Israel, Smite upon the ground; and he smote thrice, and stayed.And the man of God was wroth with him, and said, Thou shouldest have smitten five or six times: then hadst thou smitten Syria till thou hadst consumed it; whereas now thou shalt smite Syria but thrice.

Then opened he their mind, that they might understand the scriptures;and he said unto them, Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer, and rise again from the dead the third day;and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name unto all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.Ye are witnesses of these things.And behold, I send forth the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city, until ye be clothed with power from on high.And he led them out until they were over against Bethany: and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them.And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he parted from them, and was carried up into heaven.

The prayers of David the son of Jesse are ended.

But ye shall receive power, when the Holy Spirit is come upon you: and ye shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judæa and Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Let Jehovah, the God of the spirits of all flesh, appoint a man over the congregation,who may go out before them, and who may come in before them, and who may lead them out, and who may bring them in; that the congregation of Jehovah be not as sheep which have no shepherd.And Jehovah said unto Moses, Take thee Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is the Spirit, and lay thy hand upon him;and set him before Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation; and give him a charge in their sight.And thou shalt put of thine honor upon him, that all the congregation of the children of Israel may obey.And he shall stand before Eleazar the priest, who shall inquire for him by the judgment of the Urim before Jehovah: at his word shall they go out, and at his word they shall come in, both he, and all the children of Israel with him, even all the congregation.And Moses did as Jehovah commanded him; and he took Joshua, and set him before Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation:and he laid his hands upon him, and gave him a charge, as Jehovah spake by Moses.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto the Father.And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.If ye shall ask anything in my name, that will I do.
