Elijah took his cloak, rolled it up and struck the water with it. The water divided to the right and to the left, and the two of them crossed over on dry ground.

It piled up far upstream at Adam( the city near Zarethan); there was no water at all flowing to the sea of the Arabah( the Salt Sea). The people crossed the river opposite Jericho.The priests carrying the ark of the covenant of the LORD stood firmly on dry ground in the middle of the Jordan. All Israel crossed over on dry ground until the entire nation was on the other side.

Why do you flee, O sea? Why do you turn back, O Jordan River?Why do you skip like rams, O mountains, like lambs, O hills?Tremble, O earth, before the Lord– before the God of Jacob,

When Elijah heard it, he covered his face with his robe and went out and stood at the entrance to the cave. All of a sudden a voice asked him,“ Why are you here, Elijah?”

By faith they crossed the Red Sea as if on dry ground, but when the Egyptians tried it, they were swallowed up.

Then the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates and dried up its water to prepare the way for the kings from the east.
