百姓離開帳棚要過約旦河的時候，擡約櫃的祭司乃在百姓的前頭。他們到了約旦河，腳一入水（原來約旦河水在收割的日子漲過兩岸），那從上往下流的水便在極遠之地、撒拉但旁的亞當城那裏停住，立起成壘；那往亞拉巴的海，就是鹽海，下流的水全然斷絕。於是百姓在耶利哥的對面過去了。擡耶和華約櫃的祭司在約旦河中的乾地上站定，以色列眾人都從乾地上過去，直到國民盡都過了約旦河。

滄海啊，你為何奔逃？約旦哪，你為何倒流？大山哪，你為何踴躍，如公羊？小山哪，你為何跳舞，如羊羔？大地啊，你因見主的面，就是雅各神的面，便要震動。

以利亞聽見，就用外衣蒙上臉，出來站在洞口。有聲音向他說：「以利亞啊，你在這裏做甚麼？」

他們因着信，過紅海如行乾地；埃及人試着要過去，就被吞滅了。

第六位天使把碗倒在幼發拉底大河上，河水就乾了，要給那從日出之地所來的眾王預備道路。
