From there Elisha went up to Bethel. As he was walking along the road, some boys came out of the town and jeered at him.“ Get out of here, baldy!” they said.“ Get out of here, baldy!”

Elisha left Jericho and went up to Bethel. As he was walking along the road, a group of boys from the town began mocking and making fun of him.“ Go away, baldy!” they chanted.“ Go away, baldy!”

From there Elisha went up to Bethel. As he was walking up the path, some small boys came out of the city and jeered at him, chanting,“ Go up, baldy! Go up, baldy!”

Now he went up from there to Bethel; and as he was going up by the road, some young boys came out from the city and ridiculed him and said to him,“ Go up, you baldhead; go up, you baldhead!”

Then he went up from there to Bethel; and as he was going up the road, some youths came from the city and mocked him, and said to him,“ Go up, you baldhead! Go up, you baldhead!”

And he went up from thence unto Beth- el; and as he was going up by the way, there came forth young lads out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou baldhead; go up, thou baldhead.

From there Elisha went up to Bethel. As he was walking up the path, some small boys came out of the city and harassed him, chanting,“ Go up, baldy! Go up, baldy!”

And he went up from thence unto Bethel: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head.

願撒謊的嘴唇啞然無聲——它們因著自高和輕慢，向義人說狂傲的話。

訓練孩童走當行的路，就是到老，他也不偏離。

「至於你們這些巫婆的子孫，姦夫和妓女的種子，近前來到這裡吧！你們在嘲笑誰呢？向誰張大嘴巴、伸長舌頭呢？難道你們不是叛逆之子、虛謊之種嗎？

因此你當從心中除掉煩惱，從肉體中除去疾苦；要知道，無論年少或青壯都轉眼成空。

但我跌倒的時候，他們卻歡喜聚集；我不認識的卑賤人聚集攻擊我，不停地撕扯我；

另有些人經受了戲弄、鞭打的試煉；還有些人受了捆鎖、監禁的試煉；

禍哉！有罪的國，罪孽深重的民，作惡者的後裔，敗壞的兒女！他們離棄耶和華，藐視以色列的聖者，轉背遠離他。

就算是小孩子，也能藉著他的行為，辨認出他的作為是否純潔正直。

百姓將彼此欺壓，這人欺壓那人，各人欺壓自己的鄰人；少年人侮慢老年人，卑微人侮慢尊貴人。

說：「你這個要拆毀聖所、三天內又建起來的人哪，救救你自己吧！你如果是神的兒子，就從十字架上下來吧！」同樣，祭司長們也與經文士們和長老們一起嘲笑，說：「他救了別人，卻不能救自己！他是以色列的王！現在讓他從十字架上下來吧，這樣我們就信靠他！他依靠神，如果神喜悅他，就讓神現在救他吧！因為他說過『我是神的兒子。』」

但正如那由肉體生的當時逼迫了那由聖靈生的，現在也是這樣。

撒拉看見埃及人夏甲為亞伯拉罕所生的兒子在一邊嘲笑，

愚妄纏在孩子的心裡，管教的杖使愚妄遠離。

用荊棘編了冠冕，戴在他的頭上，又把一根蘆葦放在他的右手裡，然後跪在他面前，戲弄他說：「萬歲，猶太人的王！」接著向他吐唾沫，拿蘆葦打他的頭。他們戲弄完了，就脫下他深紅色的袍子，給他穿上他自己的衣服，然後把他帶走，要釘上十字架。
