Elijah told Elisha,“ Stay here, for the LORD has sent me to Bethel.” But Elisha said,“ As certainly as the LORD lives and as you live, I will not leave you.” So they went down to Bethel.

以利亞告以利沙曰、耶和華使我往伯特利、汝可待此。以利沙曰、我指耶和華而誓、亦指爾生命以誓、我不離爾。乃偕往伯特利。

以利亞謂以利沙曰、主遣我往伯特利、爾且待此、以利沙曰、我指永生主而誓、亦指爾之生命而誓、我不離爾、於是二人下伯特利、

Elijah said to Elisha,“ Stay here; the Lord has sent me to Bethel.” But Elisha said,“ As surely as the Lord lives and as you live, I will not leave you.” So they went down to Bethel.

Elijah said to Elisha,“ Stay here. The Lord has sent me to Bethel.” But Elisha said,“ I won’t leave you. And that’s just as sure as the Lord and you are alive.” So they went down to Bethel.

And Elijah said to Elisha,“ Please stay here, for the Lord has sent me as far as Bethel.” But Elisha said,“ As the Lord lives, and as you yourself live, I will not leave you.” So they went down to Bethel.

And Elijah said to Elisha,“ Stay here, for the Lord has told me to go to Bethel.” But Elisha replied,“ As surely as the Lord lives and you yourself live, I will never leave you!” So they went down together to Bethel.

and Elijah said to Elisha,“ Stay here; the LORD is sending me on to Bethel.” But Elisha replied,“ As the LORD lives and as you yourself live, I will not leave you.” So they went down to Bethel.

And Elijah said to Elisha,“ Stay here please, for the Lord has sent me as far as Bethel.” But Elisha said,“ As surely as the Lord lives and as you yourself live, I will not leave you.” So they went down to Bethel.

Then Elijah said to Elisha,“ Stay here, please, for the Lord has sent me on to Bethel.” But Elisha said,“ As the Lord lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you!” So they went down to Bethel.

And Elijah said unto Elisha, Tarry here, I pray thee; for Jehovah hath sent me as far as Beth- el. And Elisha said, As Jehovah liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they went down to Beth- el.

and Elijah said to Elisha,“ Stay here; the Lord is sending me on to Bethel.” But Elisha replied,“ As the Lord lives and as you yourself live, I will not leave you.” So they went down to Bethel.

And Elijah said unto Elisha, Tarry here, I pray thee; for the LORD hath sent me to Bethel. And Elisha said[ unto him, As] the LORD liveth, and[ as] thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they went down to Bethel.

Elijah said to Elisha,“ Please wait here, for Yahweh has sent me as far as Bethel.” Elisha said,“ As Yahweh lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you.” So they went down to Bethel.

Elijah said to him,“ Stay here, for the LORD has sent me to the Jordan.” But he replied,“ As certainly as the LORD lives and as you live, I will not leave you.” So they traveled on together.

The mother of the child said,“ As certainly as the LORD lives and as you live, I will not leave you.” So Elisha got up and followed her back.

She said,“ Just as surely as you are alive, my lord, I am the woman who previously stood here with you in order to pray to the LORD.

Elijah said to him,“ Elisha, stay here, for the LORD has sent me to Jericho.” But he replied,“ As certainly as the LORD lives and as you live, I will not leave you.” So they went to Jericho.

“ Now, my lord, as surely as the LORD lives and as surely as you live, it is the LORD who has kept you from shedding blood and taking matters into your own hands. Now may your enemies and those who seek to harm my lord be like Nabal.

You must be truthful, honest and upright when you take an oath saying,‘ As surely as the LORD lives!’ If you do, the nations will pray to be as blessed by him as you are and will make him the object of their boasting.”

He called that place Bethel, although the former name of the town was Luz.

So Naomi said,“ Look, your sister-in-law is returning to her people and to her god. Follow your sister-in-law back home!”But Ruth replied,“ Stop urging me to abandon you! For wherever you go, I will go. Wherever you live, I will live. Your people will become my people, and your God will become my God.Wherever you die, I will die– and there I will be buried. May the LORD punish me severely if I do not keep my promise! Only death will be able to separate me from you!”When Naomi realized that Ruth was determined to go with her, she stopped trying to dissuade her.

He put one in Bethel and the other in Dan.

On the fifteenth day of the eighth month( a date he had arbitrarily chosen) Jeroboam offered sacrifices on the altar he had made in Bethel. He inaugurated a festival for the Israelites and went up to the altar to offer sacrifices.Just then a prophet from Judah, sent by the LORD, arrived in Bethel, as Jeroboam was standing near the altar ready to offer a sacrifice.With the authority of the LORD he cried out against the altar,“ O altar, altar! This is what the LORD says,‘ Look, a son named Josiah will be born to the Davidic dynasty. He will sacrifice on you the priests of the high places who offer sacrifices on you. Human bones will be burned on you.’”

Then the king said to Ittai the Gittite,“ Why should you come with us? Go back and stay with the new king, for you are a foreigner and an exile from your own country.It seems like you arrived just yesterday. Today should I make you wander around by going with us? I go where I must go. But as for you, go back and take your men with you. May genuine loyal love protect you!”But Ittai replied to the king,“ As surely as the LORD lives and as my lord the king lives, wherever my lord the king is, whether dead or alive, there I will be as well!”

So Jesus said to the twelve,“ You don’t want to go away too, do you?”Simon Peter answered him,“ Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words of eternal life.

Now as Saul watched David going out to fight the Philistine, he asked Abner, the general in command of the army,“ Whose son is this young man, Abner?” Abner replied,“ As surely as you live, O king, I don’t know.”

They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us, because if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us. But they went out from us to demonstrate that all of them do not belong to us.
