以利亞對以利沙說：“你留在這裡吧，因為耶和華差派我到伯特利去。”以利沙說：“我指著永活的耶和華和你的性命起誓：我必不離開你。”於是他們下到伯特利去。

以利亚对以利沙说：“耶和华差我往伯特利去，你可以在这里等候。”以利沙说：“我指着永生的耶和华，又敢在你面前起誓，我必不离开你。”于是二人下到伯特利。

以利亞謂以利沙曰、耶和華遣我至伯特利、請爾待此、以利沙曰、我指維生之耶和華、及爾生命而誓、我不離爾、於是二人下伯特利、

以利亞告以利沙曰、耶和華使我往伯特利、汝可待此。以利沙曰、我指耶和華而誓、亦指爾生命以誓、我不離爾。乃偕往伯特利。

以利亞謂以利沙曰、主遣我往伯特利、爾且待此、以利沙曰、我指永生主而誓、亦指爾之生命而誓、我不離爾、於是二人下伯特利、

Elijah said to Elisha,“ Stay here; the Lord has sent me to Bethel.” But Elisha said,“ As surely as the Lord lives and as you live, I will not leave you.” So they went down to Bethel.

Elijah said to Elisha,“ Stay here. The Lord has sent me to Bethel.” But Elisha said,“ I won’t leave you. And that’s just as sure as the Lord and you are alive.” So they went down to Bethel.

And Elijah said to Elisha,“ Please stay here, for the Lord has sent me as far as Bethel.” But Elisha said,“ As the Lord lives, and as you yourself live, I will not leave you.” So they went down to Bethel.

And Elijah said to Elisha,“ Stay here, for the Lord has told me to go to Bethel.” But Elisha replied,“ As surely as the Lord lives and you yourself live, I will never leave you!” So they went down together to Bethel.

and Elijah said to Elisha,“ Stay here; the LORD is sending me on to Bethel.” But Elisha replied,“ As the LORD lives and as you yourself live, I will not leave you.” So they went down to Bethel.

And Elijah said to Elisha,“ Stay here please, for the Lord has sent me as far as Bethel.” But Elisha said,“ As surely as the Lord lives and as you yourself live, I will not leave you.” So they went down to Bethel.

Then Elijah said to Elisha,“ Stay here, please, for the Lord has sent me on to Bethel.” But Elisha said,“ As the Lord lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you!” So they went down to Bethel.

And Elijah said unto Elisha, Tarry here, I pray thee; for Jehovah hath sent me as far as Beth- el. And Elisha said, As Jehovah liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they went down to Beth- el.

and Elijah said to Elisha,“ Stay here; the Lord is sending me on to Bethel.” But Elisha replied,“ As the Lord lives and as you yourself live, I will not leave you.” So they went down to Bethel.

And Elijah said unto Elisha, Tarry here, I pray thee; for the LORD hath sent me to Bethel. And Elisha said[ unto him, As] the LORD liveth, and[ as] thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. So they went down to Bethel.

Elijah told Elisha,“ Stay here, for the LORD has sent me to Bethel.” But Elisha said,“ As certainly as the LORD lives and as you live, I will not leave you.” So they went down to Bethel.

Elijah said to Elisha,“ Please wait here, for Yahweh has sent me as far as Bethel.” Elisha said,“ As Yahweh lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you.” So they went down to Bethel.

以利亞對他說：“你留在這裡吧，因為耶和華差派我往約旦河去。”以利沙說：“我指著永活的耶和華和你的性命起誓：我必不離開你。”於是他們二人繼續前行。

孩子的母親說：“我指著永活的耶和華和你的性命起誓，我決不會離開你。”神人只好起身隨她而去。

婦人說：“我主啊，我敢指著我主的性命起誓，我就是從前在這裡站在你旁邊，向耶和華禱告的那個婦人。

以利亞對以利沙說：“你留在這裡吧，因為耶和華差派我往耶利哥。”他說：“我指著永活的耶和華和你的性命起誓：我必不離開你。”於是他們來到耶利哥。

我主啊，現在我指著永活的耶和華，又在你面前起誓，耶和華既然阻止了你流人的血，又阻止了你親手報仇，願你的仇敵和那些謀害我主的人，都像拿八一樣。

如果你憑真理、公正、公義，指著永活的耶和華起誓；列國就必因耶和華蒙福，也必以他為榮。”

他就給那地方起名叫伯特利，但那城起初名叫路斯。

拿俄米說：“你看，你嫂嫂已經回到她同胞和她的神那裡去了。你也跟著嫂嫂回去吧。”路得說：“請不要逼我離開你回去，不跟從你。你到哪裡去，我也要到哪裡去；你在哪裡過夜，我也要在哪裡過夜；你的同胞就是我的同胞，你的神就是我的神；你死在哪裡，我也要死在哪裡，葬在哪裡。除非死亡把你我分離；如果我離開你，願耶和華加倍懲罰我。”拿俄米看路得堅決要跟她走，就不再多費唇舌了。

他就把一個牛犢安放在伯特利，一個安放在但。

八月十五日，就是他心裡私定作為以色列人節期的日子，他在伯特利在自己所建的祭壇上獻祭燒香。有一個神人，奉耶和華的命令，從猶大來到伯特利；那時，耶羅波安正站在祭壇旁邊燒香。神人奉耶和華的命令，向那祭壇喊叫，說：“祭壇哪，祭壇哪，耶和華這樣說：‘看哪，大衛家要生一個兒子，名叫約西亞；他要把邱壇的祭司，就是在你上面燒香的，作祭物獻在你上面。人的骨頭也要在你上面焚燒。’”

王對迦特人以太說：“你為甚麼也與我們一同走呢？回去留在新王那裡吧！因為你是個外族人，是個遠離自己家鄉逃到這裡來的人。你昨天才來，我怎可以今天就讓你與我們一同流浪呢？現在我還不知道我要到哪裡去。你回去吧！帶著你的兄弟一同回去吧！願耶和華的（《馬索拉文本》沒有“耶和華的”；現參照《七十士譯本》補上）慈愛和信實與你同在。”以太回答王說：“我指著永活的耶和華，在我主我王面前起誓，無論我主我王在甚麼地方，或生或死，你僕人也必在那裡。”

於是耶穌對十二門徒說：“你們也想離去嗎？”西門．彼得回答：“主啊，你有永生之道，我們還跟從誰呢？

掃羅看見大衛出去迎戰那非利士人，就問元帥押尼珥：“押尼珥啊，這個年輕人是誰的兒子？”押尼珥回答：“我敢指著王起誓，我不知道。”

他們從我們中間離去，這就表明他們是不屬於我們的。其實他們並不屬於我們，如果真的屬於我們，就一定會留在我們中間。
