以诺与上帝亲密同行，后来被上帝接去，不在世上了。

以诺因为信而被接到天上，没有经历死亡。世人找不到他，因为上帝已经把他接走了。其实他在被接之前，已经得到了肯定，是一个蒙上帝喜悦的人。

那天是一月十日。以色列人从约旦河上来之后，就在耶利哥东边的吉甲扎营。

耶和华说：“你出来站在山上，站在我面前。”耶和华从那里经过时，疾风大作，劈山碎石，但耶和华不在风中。疾风过后又有地震，但耶和华不在其中。

耶和华对约书亚说：“今天我除去了你们在埃及受的羞辱。”因此，那地方叫吉甲，沿用至今。

然后，再膏立宁示的孙子耶户做以色列王，还要膏立亚伯·米何拉人沙法的儿子以利沙做先知来接替你。将来从哈薛刀下逃生的，必被耶户杀死；从耶户刀下逃生的，必被以利沙杀死。此外，我在以色列留下七千人，他们未曾跪拜巴力，也未曾亲吻巴力。”于是，以利亚离开那里，找到沙法的儿子以利沙，他正在耕田。他前面有十二对牛，他正赶着第十二对。以利亚走过以利沙身边时，将自己的外袍搭在他身上。以利沙就撇下牛，追上以利亚说：“请你让我先回去与父母亲吻道别，再跟你走吧。”以利亚说：“你回去吧，别忘了我刚才对你做的事。”以利沙就回去了。他宰了两头耕牛，用耕具作柴煮肉分给众人，然后去跟随以利亚，服侍他。

耶稣被接回天家的日子快到了，祂决定前往耶路撒冷。

他们边走边谈，忽然有火马拉的火车把他们二人隔开，以利亚乘着旋风升上了天。

那时，耶和华从旋风中回答约伯说：

接着天上有大声音呼唤他们说：“上这里来！”他们就在敌人的注视下驾云升上天去。

以利沙回到吉甲，那里正闹饥荒。一群先知坐在他面前，他吩咐仆人把一口大锅放在火上给他们煮汤。

我离开你以后，不知道耶和华的灵会把你带到哪里。如果我去告诉亚哈，他来了却找不到你，必定会杀我。然而，仆人自幼就敬畏耶和华。

耶稣说完这番话，就在他们眼前被提升天，被一朵云彩接去，离开了他们的视线。

自己在旷野走了一天的路程，来到一棵罗腾树下，坐下来祷告求死，说：“耶和华啊，我受够了，求你取走我的性命吧，我不比我的祖先强。”
