我將聳動其心、使聞一事、即歸故土、而殞於刃。○

Listen! When he hears a certain report, I will make him want to return to his own country, and there I will have him cut down with the sword.’”

Listen! I will send him news from his own country. It will make him want to return home. There I will have him killed by a sword.” ’ ”

蓋主曾使亞蘭人聞車騎之聲、若全軍忽至、則相語曰、以色列王、以金饋赫人埃及人列王、俱來攻我、

電閃如矢、眾敵敗北兮、耶和華叱咤而噓氣、見地基、露海底兮、

蓋上帝震怒、而彼翦滅。

是夕耶和華之使出、在亞述營擊其士卒、十八萬五千、詰朝惟見尸骸而已。亞述王西拿基立遂歸尼尼微、值崇拜於其上帝溺落之殿、其子亞得米勒沙哩斯弒之、遁於亞喇臘國、更有一子、以撒哈頓繼位。

驚駭之聲、常聞於耳、平康之時、殘賊忽至。

為困乏與謙遜之人聽訟、秉公行義、作惡者流、必遭箠楚、以辭氣滅之、

我上帝涖臨、聿駿厥聲、電閃於前、大風四起兮、

耶和華曰、我使狂風、攻擊巴比倫、以及違予之人、

電光閃兮硫火降、災飆發兮報施不爽、

我耶和華告先知、遣使至列邦、使彼咸集、與破斯喇戰。

歲有浮言、長者搆兵、鬥聲聞於斯土、爾勿喪膽、勿恐懼。

阿巴底得主耶和華默示、言以東之事、曰、我聞耶和華、言遣使者至列邦、使彼咸起、與以東戰鬥。

故萬有之主將使肥健之人、變為瘦瘠、尊榮之輩、爇以烈火、以色列族至聖之主、輝光遠燭、勢若焰火、一日間必毀亞述人、若焚荊棘、茂林良田、俱遭焚燬、中有餘木、其數惟寡、小子可稽察之、亞述王身必喪、命必絕、如病者之漸痿、

耶和華遣使至亞述王營壘、滅諸勁旅、與武士長、亞述王恥之、遄歸故土、入其上帝殿、為子所弒。
