七月十七日、舟停於亞拉臘山、

則往見所羅巴伯及諸族長、謂之曰、求容我與爾同建、因我崇事爾之天主、與爾無異、自亞述王以撒哈頓使我至此以來、我惟祭祀天主、

當於斯地樹旗、在各國吹角、使各族來攻之、當會集亞拉臘、米尼、亞實基拿諸邦、立軍長、使馬軍俱至、若蝗眾多、

我將使之聞風聲、立意歸其故土、在彼為刀所殺、○

我列祖所滅諸國、何國之神、能救其民脫於我手、獨爾之神、能救爾脫於我手乎、

勿聽希西家使爾恃主之言、彼曰、主必救我、此城不至陷於亞述王手、

當如是告猶大王希西家曰、爾勿為爾恃之神所惑、自言耶路撒冷必不至陷於亞述王手、

希西家惟倚賴主以色列之天主、在其後猶大列王無有如之者、其前亦無有焉、

其論耶路撒冷之天主、與論人手所作列邦之神無異、

亞述王西拿基立遂返、居於尼尼微、一日崇拜於其神尼斯洛殿、其子亞得米勒與沙利色、以刃弒之、乃遁於亞拉臘地、其子以撒哈頓繼之為王、

彼所敬之神、不如我天主、我敵亦能決其為然、

主遣天使至亞述王之營、滅諸壯士軍長將帥、亞述王蒙恥而歸故土、入其神入廟、其親生之子、弒之以刃、
