I will defend this city and save it, for my sake and for the sake of David my servant.’”

And I will add unto thy days fifteen years; and I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for mine own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.

Notwithstanding in thy days I will not do it for David thy father’s sake:[ but] I will rend it out of the hand of thy son.Howbeit I will not rend away all the kingdom;[ but] will give one tribe to thy son for David my servant’s sake, and for Jerusalem’s sake which I have chosen.

And I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria: and I will defend this city.

As birds flying, so will the LORD of hosts defend Jerusalem; defending also he will deliver[ it; and] passing over he will preserve it.

Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not[ this] for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name’s sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went.

Then will I cast away the seed of Jacob, and David my servant,[ so] that I will not take[ any] of his seed[ to be] rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: for I will cause their captivity to return, and have mercy on them.

To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

Nevertheless for David’s sake did the LORD his God give him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem:

Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this[ is] his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.

[ Then] may also my covenant be broken with David my servant, that he should not have a son to reign upon his throne; and with the Levites the priests, my ministers.

For my name’s sake will I defer mine anger, and for my praise will I refrain for thee, that I cut thee not off.

Were it not that I feared the wrath of the enemy, lest their adversaries should behave themselves strangely,[ and] lest they should say, Our hand[ is] high, and the LORD hath not done all this.

For mine own sake,[ even] for mine own sake, will I do[ it]: for how should[ my name] be polluted? and I will not give my glory unto another.

I,[ even] I,[ am] he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.

Of the increase of[ his] government and peace[ there shall be] no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

God[ is] in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her,[ and that] right early.The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.

Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth,[ is] mount Zion,[ on] the sides of the north, the city of the great King.God is known in her palaces for a refuge.For, lo, the kings were assembled, they passed by together.They saw[ it, and] so they marvelled; they were troubled,[ and] hasted away.Fear took hold upon them there,[ and] pain, as of a woman in travail.Thou breakest the ships of Tarshish with an east wind.As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the LORD of hosts, in the city of our God: God will establish it for ever.
