Their residents are powerless, they are terrified and ashamed. They are as short-lived as plants in the field, or green vegetation. They are as short-lived as grass on the rooftops when it is scorched by the east wind.

所以其中的居民力量甚小，惊惶羞愧。他们像野草，像青菜，如房顶上的草，又如未长成而枯干的禾稼。

而其中的居民手力短缺，驚慌慚愧；像田間的菜蔬，像綠草之青青如房頂上的草，未亭亭立而枯萎的莊稼麼？

故其居民力微、驚惶羞愧、如田草、如青蔬、如屋上之草、如未成而槁之禾、

彼民荏弱、驚懼懷羞、如山野之蔬、屋上之草、未及其長、為風所暴、

故其中居民皆荏弱無力、驚惶羞愧、乃如田草、如青蔬、如屋上之草、如未成而槁之禾苗、

Their people, drained of power, are dismayed and put to shame. They are like plants in the field, like tender green shoots, like grass sprouting on the roof, scorched before it grows up.

Their people do not have any power left. They are troubled and put to shame. They are like plants in the field. They are like new green plants. They are like grass that grows on a roof. It dries up before it is completely grown.

while their inhabitants, shorn of strength, are dismayed and confounded, and have become like plants of the field and like tender grass, like grass on the housetops, blighted before it is grown.

That is why their people have so little power and are so frightened and confused. They are as weak as grass, as easily trampled as tender green shoots. They are like grass sprouting on a housetop, scorched before it can grow lush and tall.

Their inhabitants have become powerless, dismayed, and ashamed. They are plants of the field, tender grass, grass on the rooftops, blasted by the east wind.

Therefore their inhabitants were powerless, They were shattered and put to shame. They were like the vegetation of the field and the green grass, Like grass on the housetops that is scorched before it has grown.

Therefore their inhabitants had little power; They were dismayed and confounded; They were as the grass of the field And the green herb, As the grass on the housetops And grain blighted before it is grown.

A voice says,“ Cry out!” Another asks,“ What should I cry out?” The first voice responds:“ All people are like grass, and all their promises are like the flowers in the field.The grass dries up, the flowers wither, when the wind sent by the LORD blows on them. Surely humanity is like grass.The grass dries up, the flowers wither, but the decree of our God is forever reliable.”

For all flesh is like grass and all its glory like the flower of the grass; the grass withers and the flower falls off,

May they be like the grass on the rooftops which withers before one can even pull it up,which cannot fill the reaper’s hand, or the lap of the one who gathers the grain!Those who pass by will not say,“ May you experience the LORD’s blessing! We pronounce a blessing on you in the name of the LORD.”

But the rich person’s pride should be in his humiliation, because he will pass away like a wildflower in the meadow.For the sun rises with its heat and dries up the meadow; the petal of the flower falls off and its beauty is lost forever. So also the rich person in the midst of his pursuits will wither away.

When the wicked sprout up like grass, and all the evildoers glisten, it is so that they may be annihilated.

Only do not rebel against the LORD, and do not fear the people of the land, for they are bread for us. Their protection has turned aside from them, but the LORD is with us. Do not fear them!”

If the LORD does not build a house, then those who build it work in vain. If the LORD does not guard a city, then the watchman stands guard in vain.

They will report that the fords have been captured, the reed marshes have been burned, the soldiers are terrified.

Destructive forces will come against her false prophets; they will be shown to be fools! Destructive forces will come against her soldiers; they will be filled with terror!Destructive forces will come against her horses and her chariots. Destructive forces will come against all the foreign troops within her; they will be as frightened as women! Destructive forces will come against her treasures; they will be taken away as plunder!

My days are coming to an end, and I am withered like grass.

And the LORD said to Moses,“ Is the LORD’s hand shortened? Now you will see whether my word to you will come true or not!”

The soldiers of Babylonia will stop fighting. They will remain in their fortified cities. They will lose their strength to do battle. They will be as frightened as women. The houses in her cities will be set on fire. The gates of her cities will be broken down.

For look, the kings assemble; they advance together.As soon as they see, they are shocked; they are terrified, they quickly retreat.Look at them shake uncontrollably, like a woman writhing in childbirth.With an east wind you shatter the large ships.

For even if you were to defeat all the Babylonian forces fighting against you so badly that only wounded men were left lying in their tents, they would get up and burn this city down.”’”
