故其居民力微、驚惶羞愧、如田草、如青蔬、如屋上之草、如未成而槁之禾、

彼民荏弱、驚懼懷羞、如山野之蔬、屋上之草、未及其長、為風所暴、

故其中居民皆荏弱無力、驚惶羞愧、乃如田草、如青蔬、如屋上之草、如未成而槁之禾苗、

Their people, drained of power, are dismayed and put to shame. They are like plants in the field, like tender green shoots, like grass sprouting on the roof, scorched before it grows up.

Their people do not have any power left. They are troubled and put to shame. They are like plants in the field. They are like new green plants. They are like grass that grows on a roof. It dries up before it is completely grown.

while their inhabitants, shorn of strength, are dismayed and confounded, and have become like plants of the field and like tender grass, like grass on the housetops, blighted before it is grown.

That is why their people have so little power and are so frightened and confused. They are as weak as grass, as easily trampled as tender green shoots. They are like grass sprouting on a housetop, scorched before it can grow lush and tall.

Their inhabitants have become powerless, dismayed, and ashamed. They are plants of the field, tender grass, grass on the rooftops, blasted by the east wind.

Therefore their inhabitants were powerless, They were shattered and put to shame. They were like the vegetation of the field and the green grass, Like grass on the housetops that is scorched before it has grown.

有聲音說：「呼喊吧！」我問道：「我呼喊什麼呢？」那聲音說：「芸芸眾生盡如草，榮華富貴像野地的花。耶和華吹一口氣，草就枯乾，花也凋殘。人類誠然像草。草必枯乾，花必凋殘，唯有我們上帝的話永遠長存。」

因為「芸芸眾生盡如草，榮華不過草上花；草必枯乾花必殘，

願他們像房頂的草，沒長起來就已枯萎，割下來不滿一把，紮起來不足一捆。沒有一個路過的人說：「願耶和華賜福給你們！我們奉耶和華的名祝福你們。」

富有的弟兄降卑，也要快樂，因為他會像花草一樣衰殘。驕陽升起，草就乾枯，花也凋謝，美麗就消失了。富有的人在忙忙碌碌中也會如此衰殘。

惡人雖如草滋生，一時亨通，但終必永遠滅亡。

你們不要背叛耶和華，也不要害怕那裡的人，他們不過是我們的獵物，他們已失去庇護。耶和華與我們同在，不要怕他們。」

若不是耶和華建造房屋，建造者的工作都是徒勞。若不是耶和華保護城池，守城者保持警覺也是徒然。

渡口被佔，沼澤地被燒，戰士驚慌失措。』」

敵人要攻擊巴比倫的假先知，使他們顯出愚昧；敵人要攻擊巴比倫的勇士，使他們充滿恐懼；敵人要攻擊巴比倫人的戰車戰馬和他們的盟軍，使他們柔弱得像婦女；敵人要攻打他們的庫房，肆意搶奪他們的財寶。

我的生命就像黃昏的影子，又如枯乾的草芥。

耶和華說：「難道我的臂膀能力不夠嗎？你很快將看見我的話會不會應驗。」

巴比倫的勇士不再作戰，躲在堡壘裡，士氣消沉，像婦女一樣無力；巴比倫的房屋被火焚燒，城門被攻破。

世上的君王一同聚集，前來攻城。他們看見這城後，大驚失色，慌忙逃跑。他們被恐懼籠罩，痛苦如分娩的婦人。你毀滅他們，如同東風摧毀他施的船隻。

即使你們能打敗迦勒底全軍，他們營中受傷的殘兵也必起來燒毀這城。』」
