He sent Eliakim the palace administrator, Shebna the secretary and the leading priests, all wearing sackcloth, to the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz.

Hezekiah sent Eliakim, who was in charge of the palace, to Isaiah the prophet. Isaiah was the son of Amoz. Hezekiah also sent to Isaiah the leading priests and Shebna the secretary. All of them were wearing the same rough clothing.

And he sent Eliakim, who was over the household, and Shebna the secretary, and the senior priests, covered with sackcloth, to the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz.

And he sent Eliakim the palace administrator, Shebna the court secretary, and the leading priests, all dressed in burlap, to the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz.

他差遣以利亚敬宫廷总管和舍伯那书记，并祭司中年长的，都披上麻衣，到亚摩斯的儿子以赛亚先知那里去。他们对他说：“希西家如此说：‘今日是急难、惩罚、凌辱的日子，就如婴孩快要出生，却没有力气生产。或许耶和华—你的神听见亚述将军的话，就是他主人亚述王差他来辱骂永生神的话，耶和华—你的神就斥责所听见的这些话。求你为幸存的余民扬声祷告。’”希西家王的臣仆就来到以赛亚那里。

正如以赛亚先知书上所记的话：“在旷野有声音呼喊着：预备主的道，修直他的路！

乌西雅其余的事，自始至终，亚摩斯的儿子以赛亚先知都记录下来。

这是要应验以赛亚先知所说的话：

他们呼叫王，希勒家的儿子以利亚敬宫廷总管，舍伯那书记和亚萨的儿子约亚史官就出来见他们。
