He sent Eliakim the palace administrator, Shebna the secretary and the leading priests, all wearing sackcloth, to the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz.

Hezekiah sent Eliakim, who was in charge of the palace, to Isaiah the prophet. Isaiah was the son of Amoz. Hezekiah also sent to Isaiah the leading priests and Shebna the secretary. All of them were wearing the same rough clothing.

And he sent Eliakim, who was over the household, and Shebna the secretary, and the senior priests, covered with sackcloth, to the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz.

And he sent Eliakim the palace administrator, Shebna the court secretary, and the leading priests, all dressed in burlap, to the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz.

使家宰以利亚敬和书记舍伯那，并祭司中的长老，都披上麻布，去见亚摩斯的儿子先知以赛亚，对他说：“希西家如此说：‘今日是急难、责罚、凌辱的日子，就如妇人将要生产婴孩，却没有力量生产。或者耶和华你的神听见拉伯沙基的话，就是他主人亚述王打发他来辱骂永生神的话；耶和华你的神听见这话就发斥责。故此，求你为余剩的民扬声祷告。’”希西家王的臣仆就去见以赛亚。

正如先知以赛亚书上所记的话，说：“在旷野有人声喊着说：‘预备主的道，修直他的路！

乌西雅其余的事，自始至终都是亚摩斯的儿子先知以赛亚所记的。

这是要应验先知以赛亚的话，

他们呼叫王的时候，就有希勒家的儿子家宰以利亚敬，并书记舍伯那和亚萨的儿子史官约亚，出来见他们。
