He sent Eliakim the palace administrator, Shebna the secretary and the leading priests, all wearing sackcloth, to the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz.

Hezekiah sent Eliakim, who was in charge of the palace, to Isaiah the prophet. Isaiah was the son of Amoz. Hezekiah also sent to Isaiah the leading priests and Shebna the secretary. All of them were wearing the same rough clothing.

And he sent Eliakim, who was over the household, and Shebna the secretary, and the senior priests, covered with sackcloth, to the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz.

And he sent Eliakim the palace administrator, Shebna the court secretary, and the leading priests, all dressed in burlap, to the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz.

He sent Eliakim the palace supervisor, Shebna the scribe, and the leading priests, clothed in sackcloth, with this message to the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz:

他差派管家以利亚敬、书记舍伯那和祭司中的长老，都披上麻布，去见亚摩斯的儿子以赛亚先知。他们对他说：“希西家这样说：‘今日是急难、责罚和凌辱的日子，就像婴孩快要出生的时候，却没有气力生出来一样。也许耶和华你的神听见拉伯沙基的话，就是他的主人亚述王派他来辱骂永活的神的话；耶和华你的神会因他所听见的话斥责他；因此，求你为余剩下来的人献上祷告。’”希西家王的臣仆就去见以赛亚，

正如以赛亚先知的书上写着：“在旷野有呼喊者的声音：‘预备主的道，修直他的路！

乌西雅其余的事迹，一生的始末，亚摩斯的儿子以赛亚先知都记下来了。

为了要应验以赛亚先知所说的：

他们呼叫王；希勒家的儿子王宫总管以利亚敬、书记舍伯那和亚萨的儿子史官约亚就出来见他们。
