希西家王聞言、自裂其衣、衣麻進耶和華殿、遣理家事者以利亞金、繕寫設拿、祭司之老者、俱衣麻見亞麼士子先知以賽亞、曰、希西家云、今日我遘患難、有譴責我、欺蔑我者、若婦當產而無力、亞述王遣僕臘沙基、侮永生之上帝、爾之上帝耶和華、或聞其言、而加以譴責、故請爾為遺民、禱告於上、希西家王之臣僕、至以賽亞所、以賽亞曰、當告爾主耶和華云、爾聞亞述王僕隸侮我之言、毋畏、我將聳動其心、使聞一事、即歸故土、而殞於刃、

爾觀亞哈卑以自牧、因此、亞哈尚存之日、我不降以禍災、迨及其子相繼、乃降災於其家。

木底改知此、自裂其衣、衣麻蒙灰、徧行邑中、大聲哀哭。至御閽前因衣麻不可入。詔至各州、猶大人禁食哀哭、衣麻蒙灰甚眾。后之侍女內豎以告后、后甚憂、賜木底改衣、使去其麻、木底改不受。

王聞婦言、則裂其衣、沿城垣而過、民見王身衣麻。

人於此祈禱、我必眷顧之、俯念之、我曾簡是殿、使之成聖、為籲我名之所、我必眷顧垂念、歷久靡暨。

約百遂起、裂衣薙首、伏地拜曰、我裸而出世、亦必裸而歸土、耶和華賜之、耶和華取之、當頌讚耶和華。

是日有便雅憫人自裂其衣、以塵蒙首、自行伍間、遁於示羅、

我聞之不禁裂裳衣、拔鬚髮、愕然而坐、

彼有疾、予衣麻禁食、哀痛迫切、低首祈禱兮。

哥拉汛其有禍乎、伯賽大其有禍乎、蓋在爾中所施異能、若施於推羅西頓、則早衣麻蒙灰、而悔改矣、

以色列王、覽書既畢、裂其衣曰、上帝能殺人、能甦人、我豈上帝乎、何乃遣人就我、使醫其癩、彼欲與我搆釁、爾群僚其思之。

王臣雖聽所誦之言、不知警、不裂衣、

俱必衣麻、懇籲上帝、眾當去惡、勿虐人民、

祭司長自裂其衣、語眾曰、僭妄哉若人、何用別證乎、爾已聞其僭妄矣、
