永恆主對摩西說：『你造一條銅蛇，掛在旗杆上；凡被咬的、一看這蛇，就會活過來。』摩西便造了一條銅蛇，掛在旗杆上；蛇若咬了甚麼人，那人一望這銅蛇，就活了。

我必破毁你們的邱壇，砍下你們的香壇，把你們的屍身扔在你們的偶像的屍身上；我的心必厭棄你們。

凡你所要趕出的列國人事奉他們的神的各地方、無論是在高山、是在山岡、或是在各茂盛樹下、你們都要徹底毁壞；也要拆毁他們的祭壇，打碎他們的崇拜柱子；他們的亞舍拉神木、你們要用火去燒，他們的神的雕像你們要砍下來，要從那地方除滅他的名。

不過，人民仍然在邱壇上獻祭，因為那些日子以前、還沒有為永恆主耶和華的名而建殿。所羅門愛永恆主，行他父親大衛的律例；不過他還在邱壇上宰牲燻祭。

約沙法走他父親亞撒所始終走的路，總不偏離，乃行永恆主所看為對的事；只是邱壇還沒有廢去，人民仍然在邱壇上宰牲燻祭。

城裏的人清早起來，見巴力祭壇已被拆毁，壇旁的亞舍拉神木已被砍下，並且有第二隻牛在新築的祭壇上獻上過，

但是你們卻要這樣待他們：他們的祭壇你們要拆毁，他們崇拜的柱子你們要打碎，他們的亞舍拉神木、你們要砍下，他們的雕像你們要用火去燒。

他將男性廟倡從國中除去，又除掉了他列祖所造的一切偶像。並且把他祖母瑪迦廢掉、不讓她做太后，因為她祖母為亞舍拉造了可憎的像；亞撒把她那可憎的像砍下來，燒在汲淪谿谷邊；只是邱壇還沒有廢掉。然而儘他一生的日子、亞撒的心總是純全全歸向永恆主。

那一夜，永恆主對基甸說：『你取你父親的牛來，就是那七歲的第二隻牛，並翻毁你父親的巴力祭壇，把壇旁的亞舍拉神木砍下來；

他們的神你不可敬拜，不可事奉，也不可按他們行為的樣子行，卻要把神像盡行翻毁，一概打碎他們的崇拜柱子。

你們若對我說：『我們是倚靠耶和華我們的上帝的』，那麼這耶和華豈不是那一位、希西家曾將他的邱壇和祭壇廢去，並且對猶大和耶路撒冷的人說：「你們要在耶路撒冷這祭壇前敬拜」的麼？

只是邱壇還沒有廢去；人民仍在邱壇上宰牲燻祭。

『摩西怎樣在野地裏高舉了蛇，人子也必須怎樣被高舉，使一切信他的人都得永生。

亞哈斯王便吩咐祭司烏利亞說：『早晨的燔祭、晚上的素祭、王的燔祭和素祭、國中之民的燔祭素祭和奠祭、都要燻在大祭壇上；燔祭牲所有的血和平安祭牲的血也都要潑在這壇上；只是銅祭壇卻要給我做求問的用處。』

然而你還有良好的表現，因為你從國中將亞舍拉神木肅清，你並且立定了心意尋求上帝。』

他重新建築他父親希西家所拆毁的邱壇，又為巴力立了祭壇，又造亞舍拉神木，並且敬拜而服事天上的萬象。

只是邱壇還沒有廢去；人民仍在邱壇上宰牲燻祭。

因為我領他們到我舉手起誓要給他們的地，他們看見各高山各茂密樹，就在那裏宰獻他們的祭物，在那裏奉上惹我發怒的供物，在那裏燒上他們怡神之香氣，在那裏澆上他們的奠祭。（我問他們說：你們所去的那高處叫做甚麼？於是那高處的名字便叫做巴麻直到今日。）

王吩咐大祭司希勒家和副祭司跟把守門檻的、將那為巴力和亞舍拉女神跟天上萬象所造的器皿、都從永恆主殿堂裏搬出來，在耶路撒冷外頭汲淪谿谷的田園裏燒了，把灰燼拿到伯特利去。

他們用他們的邱壇惹了他發怒，用他們的雕像激了他的妒憤。
