當時因未為耶和華名建室、民在崇邱獻祭、所羅門敬愛耶和華、遵父大衛之典章而行、惟獻祭焚香於崇邱、○

約沙法循其父亞撒之道、不偏離之、行耶和華所悅、惟崇邱未廢、民仍獻祭焚香於其上、

邑眾夙興、見巴力之壇已毀、在旁之木偶已斫、第二牛獻於所築之壇、

爾當毀其壇、碎其柱像、斫其木偶、火其雕像、必如是待之、

驅孌童於斯土、除其列祖所作之偶像、貶其祖母瑪迦太后之位、緣其為亞舍拉作可憎之像、亞撒斫其像、焚於汲淪溪旁、惟崇邱未廢、然亞撒畢生、專心於耶和華、

是夕耶和華諭之曰、取爾父之牡犢、及七歲之牛為第二、毀爾父所築巴力之壇、斫其旁之木偶、

勿拜跪其神、勿崇奉之、勿傚其所為、當傾其神像、碎其柱像、

如告我曰、我恃我之上帝耶和華、希西家非廢其崇邱與壇、命猶大及耶路撒冷人、惟於耶路撒冷壇前崇拜乎、

惟崇邱未廢、民仍獻祭焚香於其上、○

摩西舉蛇於野、人子亦必如是見舉、致凡信者於彼而有永生、○

亞哈斯王命祭司烏利亞曰、朝之燔祭、夕之素祭、王之燔祭素祭、與庶民之燔祭素祭灌祭、皆當焚於大壇、燔祭與他祭牲之血、悉沃其上、惟彼銅壇、為我藉以諮諏之用、

然爾尚有善事在焉、即除境內之木偶、致志尋求上帝也、○

復建其父希西家所毀之崇邱、為巴力建壇、作木偶、崇拜天象、而奉事之、

惟崇邱未廢、民仍獻祭焚香於其上、
