你們要把你們趕走的列國的人事奉神的地方，無論是在高山上，在山岡上，或是在各青翠樹下，都要完全毀壞；也要拆毀他們的祭壇，打碎他們的神柱；用火焚燒他們的亞舍拉，砍倒他們的神的雕像，並且把他們的名字從這地方除滅。

不過在那些日子，人民仍然在邱壇上獻祭，因為還沒有為耶和華的名建造殿宇。所羅門愛耶和華，遵行他父親大衛的律例；只是他仍然在邱壇上宰殺和焚燒祭牲。

約沙法遵行他父親亞撒所行的一切，總不偏離，行耶和華看為正的事。只是邱壇還沒有廢去，人民仍在邱壇上獻祭燒香（“只是邱壇⋯⋯獻祭燒香。”《馬索拉文本》為22:44）。

城裡的人清早起來，見巴力的祭壇已被拆毀，壇旁的亞舍拉也被砍下來，並且看見那第二頭牛獻在新築的祭壇上的時候，

你們卻要這樣待他們：拆毀他們的祭壇，打碎他們的神柱，砍下他們的亞舍拉，用火焚燒他們的雕像。

他從國中除去廟妓，又除掉他列祖所做的一切偶像。並且廢除他祖母瑪迦太后的后位，因為她為亞舍拉做了可怕的偶像。亞撒把她那可怕的偶像砍下來，在汲淪溪旁燒掉。只是邱壇還沒有廢去；不過亞撒一生都完完全全歸向耶和華。

當夜，耶和華對基甸說：“取你父親的牛和另一頭七歲大的牛來，拆毀你父親的巴力祭壇，砍下壇旁的亞舍拉。

你不可跪拜他們的神像，也不可事奉它們，不可作他們所作的，不可模仿他們的行為，卻要把神像完全拆毀，打碎他們的柱像。

如果你們對我說：我們倚靠的是耶和華我們的神，希西家不是曾把他的邱壇和祭壇廢去，又對猶大人和耶路撒冷人說：你們要在耶路撒冷這祭壇前敬拜嗎？

只是邱壇沒有廢去，人民仍在邱壇獻祭焚香。

摩西在曠野怎樣把銅蛇舉起，人子也必照樣被舉起來，使所有信他的人都得永生。

亞哈斯王吩咐烏利亞祭司說：“要在這大祭壇上焚燒早晨的燔祭、黃昏的素祭、王的燔祭牲和素祭、所有國民的燔祭和素祭；也要在壇上澆上他們的奠祭，以及所有燔祭牲和平安祭牲的血。至於銅祭壇，我要用來求問神。”

可是你還有善行，因為你從國中除掉亞舍拉，並且決心尋求神。”

他重新建造他父親希西家拆毀的邱壇，又為巴力立壇，製造亞舍拉，並且敬拜和事奉天上的萬象。

只是邱壇還沒有廢去，人民仍在邱壇獻祭焚香。

只是他沒有把邱壇廢去，國民仍在邱壇獻祭焚香。他就是那建造耶和華殿的上門的。

我領他們到了我曾經舉手起誓要賜給他們的那地，他們看見各高山和茂盛的樹林，就在那裡獻祭，在那裡奉上惹我發怒的供物，也在那裡獻上馨香的祭，並且在那裡澆上他們的奠祭。’我問他們：‘你們所去的那高處是甚麼地方？’於是那高處的名字叫巴麻，直到今日。

只是邱壇還沒有廢去，人民仍在邱壇獻祭焚香。

王吩咐希勒家大祭司、副祭司和守殿門的，把所有為巴力、亞舍拉和天上的萬象所製造的器皿，從耶和華殿裡搬出去，在耶路撒冷城外汲淪谷的田野，把它們燒了。然後把它們的灰燼帶到伯特利去。

因他們的邱壇，惹起他的怒氣，因他們雕刻的偶像，激起他的憤恨。
