為此，聰明人在這時代緘默無聲，因這時代邪惡。

我曾說：“我要謹慎我的行為，不讓我的舌頭犯罪；惡人在我面前的時候，我總要用罩子約束我的嘴。”

不要把聖物給狗，也不要把你們的珍珠丟在豬前，免得牠們用腳把珍珠踐踏，又轉過來猛噬你們。

糾正好譏笑人的，必自招恥辱；責備惡人的，必遭受羞辱。

不要照著愚昧人的愚妄回答他，免得你像他一樣。

至於我，像個聾子，不能聽見；像個啞巴，不能開口。我竟變成了一個像是不能聽見的人，變成了一個口中不能反駁的人。
