哈大底謝屢與哈馬王陀以戰、陀以聞大衛擊敗哈大底謝全軍、遂遣子約蘭見大衛王問安、為之祝嘏、約蘭攜金銀銅諸器、

耶和華歟、亞述列王毀滅列邦、荒其土地、誠有此事、投其神於火、蓋其神非神、乃木石、人手所造、故得而毀滅之、

論大馬色曰、哈馬亞珥拔抱愧矣、蓋聞凶耗而銷沮、海上有憂、不得綏安、

其人遂往窺地、自尋野至利合、及哈馬之道、

何細亞九年、亞述王取撒瑪利亞、徙以色列人至亞述、置於哈臘與歌散之哈博河濱、及瑪代諸邑、

致耶和華擯以色列人於其前、如藉其僕眾先知所言、於是以色列人被虜離故土、徙於亞述、迄於今日、○亞述王自巴比倫、古他、亞瓦、哈馬、西法瓦音、移人置於撒瑪利亞之邑、以代以色列人、遂據撒瑪利亞、居其諸邑、斯眾始居於彼之時、不寅畏耶和華、耶和華使獅入其中、殺其數人、或告亞述王曰、王所移居撒瑪利亞之族、不識斯土之神之律、故彼使獅入其中而殺之、亞述王命曰、爾曹自其地所虜之祭司、返其一人、使居其地、以其地之神之律誨眾、於是自撒瑪利亞被虜之祭司一人、來居伯特利、誨眾如何寅畏耶和華、然各族之人、於其所居之邑、各為己造神像、置於撒瑪利亞人所造崇邱之廟、巴比倫人造疏割比訥像、古他人造匿甲像、哈馬人造亞示瑪像、亞瓦人造匿哈與他珥他像、西法瓦音人以火焚其子女、獻於西法瓦音之神、亞得米勒與亞拿米勒、斯眾乃寅畏耶和華、亦從其中簡立祭司、以司崇邱、為之獻祭於崇邱之廟、如是、斯眾寅畏耶和華、又事己神、循其所自徙諸族之例、

我祖所滅之邦、若歌散、哈蘭、利色、及居提拉撒之伊甸族、彼之諸神曾救之乎、哈馬王、亞珥拔王、西法瓦音邑之王、希拿與以瓦王、均安在哉、

亞述列王之待諸國、施行翦滅、爾既聞之、而爾能得免乎、我祖所滅之邦、若歌散、哈蘭、利色、及居提拉撒之伊甸族、彼之諸神、曾救之乎、
