諸王之王、亞達泄西告選士祭司以士喇、能明天上上帝之律例者、願爾享厥綏安、

彼曰我之牧伯、可儗列王、我滅甲呢若迦基密、滅哈末若亞八、滅撒馬利亞、若大馬色、列國之偶像、較耶路撒冷、撒馬利亞尤眾、亦為我所翦滅。撒馬利亞我已滅其國家、毀其偶像、豈不能以此待耶路撒冷乎。主曰、我降災於郇山、及耶路撒冷、既畢其事、我必伐亞述王、汰其驕心、去其抑視。彼曰、我有智有能、克勝鄰邦、虜其財、得其地、惟自恃其能而為之。

臘沙基曰、爾當告希西家、亞述大王云、爾誰恃、

試觀亞述王、若利巴嫩之柏香木、其枝葱蒨、其幹扶疏、其杪高不可及、四面環溪、灌溉有資、故柯幹甚巨、高大無比、林叢諸木、無不得水之利、既蒙灌溉、超於群木、枝繁葉茂、長柯森發、飛鳥結巢於其枝、走獸生產於其蔭、大國之民、居於下、亦受其庇。根在水濱、故枝葉葱蒨、長柯森發、上帝囿之柏香木、不能出其上、松樹不及其長條、楓樹不及其弱幹、上帝囿中、眾木雖美、不得與之頡頏、枝葉向榮、葱蒨可悅、我使之然、上帝囿中諸木、亦嫉其高、耶和華曰、彼譬喬木、其葉蓁蓁、心志驕泰、

至高之上帝耶和華、有威可畏、為宇內之大君兮。

主耶和華曰、埃及王法老、若河中巨鱷、自謂我鑿江河、足供己用、我必罰爾、

我聞如群眾聲、如濤泙湃聲、如雷震轟聲、云、全能之主上帝、秉權以治、故讚美之、

亞述王之使臣、用猶大方言、大聲呼耶路撒冷城上之民、使之恐懼觳觫、以陷其城。

臘沙基遂立、用猶大方言、大聲呼曰、亞述大王之言、爾其聽之、勿為希西家所誘、彼不能拯爾、希西家使爾恃耶和華、望其拯爾、及爾城垣、不付於亞述王手、爾勿聽焉、蓋亞述王曰、爾當與我修和、歸誠於我、厥後可各食其葡萄、及無花果、各飲己井之水、迨我遷國、往彼異方、與爾故土相同、有穀有酒、有餅、葡萄園、具備、希西家言、爾必見拯於耶和華、爾勿聽焉、四方民所事之上帝、豈得救其國、脫於亞述王手乎、
